Mr Bop - Open Sky Session

‘Solar’ is an invitation to a funk and spatial odyssey, influenced by late 70’s and early 80’s european disco, electronic and cosmic productions completed by beatmaking process which gives house’s signature to the track.

Result ? A loud, hi-tek and midtempo disco-funk tune, repetitive and highly danceable where human beings and machines converse in the space !

MORCEAUX CHOISIS is compiling unreleased, lost and previous tracks produced by french dj, sound artist and producer Switch Groove. 

What is the kind of music you could listen? Jazz infused sounds for sure. This period, between 2007 and 2012, was my jazz teaching days. Hours and hours of listening Art Blackey, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Marcus Belgrave, Doug Carn, Azymuth and a lot and a lot of hard bop, modal & spiritual jazz, jazz fusion or latin jazz. I learned music with deep listening sessions in order to understand and learn how rhythms, harmonies and melodies work.
I also produced music with sampling techniques and the ten tracks compiled are results of its learning.

I hope you enjoy it and it’s a big pleasure for me to share it with you.

A Geographic DJ at heart, I weave together the stories behind the carefully procured segments from my musical library, a collection that has been nurtured since the end of the 1990s, without the limitations of space or time. My music is multi-dimensional and cosmic, a fusion between the spirit of jazz, the energy of house, the craftsmanship of funk and the luminosity of Afro-Latin music.
