Kay’s debut solo album, The Talk Show, was released as a free download via Rappers I Know and co-premiered on Okayplayer.com. Initially slated to come out in 2005 via Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s Garden Seeker Imprint, the album didn’t see a release until 2007.

The album was an extension of The Foundation the Houston based Hip Hop Band formed in 2002 and fronted by Kay and Chris “Daddy” Dave.

The album featured Stokley from Mint Condition, Chip Fu, Kashmere Don, Sy Smith, Phife Dawg, Starchy Arch, K-otix, Nicole Hurst, The Luv Bugz, and many more with production from The ARE, Ali Shaheed, Chris Daddy Dave, Illmind, Luke Austin, Symbolyc One, Nicolay, OH NO! and more.

The Talk Show was a very important release for our collective, perhaps just behind the release that started it all, The Foundation’s self titled debut album.

Within the last few years, Ruck P and Wiz, two young and upcoming Djs from Biel-Bienne have been collecting a lot of experience on the turntables. Individually and as a group, they’ve gained a reputation as rock solid Hip Hop djs throughout their country of origin. They’re able to entertain all audiences from straight backpackers to a mainstream crowd.

With their first album they’re finally proving their skills not only on the turntables, but also on the MPC. The 14 self produced tracks feature international renowned artists as Masta Ace or Termanology and Prop Dylan from Sweden but also some of Switzerland’s finest as Nefew’s Polemikk, Manillio or Greis. With lots of love for fine details, the two producers got to create their unique sound over a period of several years. Inspired by the classic east coast esthetic, they’ve chopped unknown sample sources to rearrange those bits and pieces into something completely new. This led to a solid album which unites traditional influences and modern techniques.

I particularly collect and love the mellow stuff - Neo Soul, Rare Grooves and my beloved Slow Jams.

Well, first off "Randy Watson" is not my real name....this alias comes from one of Eddie Murphy's characters in "Coming to America." All my fellow children of the '80s probably already picked up on that....and if you don't know, check out the movie-- it's a classic!

I got my start in 2006 when Dam-Funk gave me the opportunity to be part of his weekly residency (along with Laroj, Billy Goods, Matt Respect & Eddy Funkster). We held down a weekly residency in L.A. called Funkmosphere for 11 years-- nothin' but top-shelf '80s funk/boogie and modern soul. If you ever rolled through one of these parties between 2006 and 2017, you'll know what I'm talking about!

These days, I'm one half of MIDNITE DISCO-- spinnin' at various spots in L.A. with the homie Kung-Fu Chris (Computa Games, Close Corners). The concept of “MidNite Disco” is a throwback to the late 70s and early 80’s music scene, where dancing would bring people together from all walks of life to express themselves in a shared celebration of life. Representative of how the Internet can aid in creating music, the Foreign Exchange started when Little Brother rapper Phonte heard a beat on Okayplayer.com by Dutch producer Nicolay and asked if he could lay some vocals over it. Nicolay agreed, and the song "Light It Up" appeared shortly after as the B-side to Little Brother's 2002 single "Whatever You Say." Relying mainly on instant messaging and email, the duo continued to work together, with Nicolay sending beats to Phonte, who would add vocals and send them back until they had enough tracks together to form an album. Not once during the entire process of making their debut, Connected, which came out in 2004, did the members of the Foreign Exchange speak over the phone or in person. Due in part to an increasing production load, Nicolay moved to the States, and Leave It All Behind, the second FE album -- more R&B-oriented than the debut -- was recorded. Released in 2008 and featuring a handful of stunning videos, its lead single, "Daykeeper," was nominated for a 2010 Grammy in the category of Best Urban/Alternative Performance (and lost to India.Arie's "Pearls"). After assisting two of their associates, YahZarah (The Ballad of Purple St. James) and Zo! (SunStorm), with albums, the Foreign Exchange released Authenticity. All three albums were issued in 2010 through The Foreign Exchange Music. A DVD/CD set, Dear Friends: An Evening with the Foreign Exchange (2011) and a two-disc set of remixes and new songs titled The Reworks (2013) preceded the group's fourth studio album, Love in Flying Colors.
