Written in 2022, then updated in 2023 after learning my dad had a terminal illness; remembering the things he taught me; and, as a childfree person, trying my best to contemplate how one goes about the utterly monumental task of bringing up a whole human being and navigating them through the world.

Looking For A Man Cover3

The song tells the story of a young girl who gazes at the moon each night, writing songs filled with longing for a lost lover. Subtle references to Rick from Rick and Morty echo themes of loneliness, escapism, and emotional detachment. It blends Shakuhachi melodies with ambient textures and synth pads, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Alternative rock guitars bring a raw emotional edge, while rap-sung vocals add a confessional tone. The track crescendos into a powerful orchestral finish, capturing the depth of her yearning under the purple-tinted night sky.

A score filled with the choir, pizz strings, and tubular bells with the organ drawing us near at the end.
