Think scary movie in the sewers... and you're the main character running from your worst nightmare! This is all about scariness, which is not always my thing, as I am scared easily...

I've been making music for over 26 years now and have been and still make all sorts from synthy stuff like Vaporwave/Synthwave and Hauntology but also I make club stuff Jungle, House and Reggaetón which I enjoy making the most but I do like making lots of different genres too.

Hi there!

My name is Joost and i make synthesizer music (mostly synthwave) at home in the Netherlands. Feel free to listen and enjoy my music here.

I have always had an admiration of electronic synthesizer music. Particularly that of the the late 1970's and consequently the golden age of the 1980's, where groups like Depeche Mode, Japan, Gary Numan, OMD, Human League made their mark.

A bizarre influence was Mantovani to name a few. 

He was an Anglo-Italian conductor, composer and light orchestra-styled entertainer with a cascading strings musical signature

All these musicians were a great influence on myself and the music I now produce.

Along with the bass guitar, in which in my opinion works so well with this genre of music, I am happy with the sound produced in my compositions.
So here I am, producing my own brand of the quintessence sound.

After a series of successful collaborations Synth music producers Rodrigo Passannanti (UK) and Jeremy Jones (US) decided to join forces and Alpha Romeo was resurrected into a new phase of EDM and retro synth urban vibes

The Robox is a Project that has been going for 15 years, with genre's spanning Funk, Synthwave, Electro and Jungle. Inspired by 80s & 90s films, 60s counter culture. Also, Sega, Nintendo and comic books played a role in defining my sounds, I never usually stick to one specific style, but I do like old retro sounds more than modern sharp shrill tones. 

Big thanks goes to the ones who followed from the beginning, and beyond! I'm surprised that so many people have listened/liked/follwed/reposted, it's quite astounding! There is so much variety and choice of music out there, so really, a massive thanks to the lot of you! ☺ 


I've got alot of tracks in the works, but anything that is made, is composed on A 2003 XP Laptop running all the favourites, Ableton 9.5(Arturia plug ins, Obxd, Korg synths, serum, a ton of old drum machines Hardware/Software.) And Ozone 8 for mastering. Yes, all on an obsolete XP 😁 Anything is possible!

The genre's I like are Jungle, synthwave, punk, metal, gabba.. Electro. Psychedelic rock! Blues, funk and jazz. And much more!
