“Gassed Under Protection” is a survivor’s testimony set to sonic fire.

This is the true story of Jesse — the artist behind Silk & Circuitry — who was placed under a police protection order, only to be dropped into a men’s refuge operated by Greymouth Community Mental Health, where his abusive mother had already poisoned the well.

While unconscious in that refuge, Jesse was gassed with carbon monoxide from a heater and injected with methamphetamine — an act of violence he survived. The system swept it under the rug and called it psychosis, despite zero history, multiple prior psychiatric reports, and no criminal record. His diagnosis of ADHD was weaponized against him — proof enough, apparently, to silence and discredit him.

Years later, it happened again.
A social worker was sent to Jesse’s house, again after contact with his mother. The result? Escalation, gaslighting, and punishment. The same cycle, rebooted.

Jesse has never sold his medication. He’s never touched meth. But somehow, his mother’s lies became gospel within a broken mental health system that refused to protect the very person it labeled “at risk.”

He had to threaten self-immolation just to access basic antibiotics for long-term blood poisoning. Instead of treatment, he was diagnosed with narcolepsy — again, based on fabricated suspicion, not facts.

This song is not a metaphor.
This is medical abuse, systemic failure, and the deliberate erasure of a survivor’s voice.

And now that voice has become a weapon.

The Man Who Out Lived His Autopsy

WorkWeek interviews former OSHA Whistleblower Protection Program investigator and lawyer Darrell Whitman about Michael Horowitz, the Department of Justice DOJ Inspector General. He discusses the role of Horowitz and other Inspector Generals including Scott Dahl, the Inspector General of the Department of Labor DOL  in covering up systemic corruption in the Federal government. He also discusses the case of J.P. Morgan whistleblower Johnny Burris and Michael Madry of Test America who was retaliated against for making complaints about corruption and malfeasance of these corporations.
Test America whistleblower Michael Madry, has exposed falsified testing on the San Francisco Hunters Point shipyard and Treasure Island and was retaliated against. 
When OSHA WPP investigator Whitman did an investigation of his case he was bullied and retaliated against by his manager.  
The San Francisco Chronicle has also recently reported that these highly contaminated radioactive dump sites in San Francisco have been mysteriously left off the EPA Superfund list so they are not covered under more stringent rules.

WorkWeek looks at the charges off the improper manipulation of an election in the Oakland chapter off SEIU 1021 with rank and file workers. In the midst of covid-19 and the fight to protect their health and safety, workers charged that the Local's leadership Joseph Bryant and Executive Director John Stead-Mendez were allowing non-members to run for position to prevent the rank and file from winning the election. They also charge that their grievances were disappearing and threatening the rights of members.
Next we hear about the corruption scandal in the City and County of San Francisco where a manager Margaret Sherman of the EEO had forged documents, deleted complaints of racial discrimination and illegally coerced employees to drop their lawsuits by fraudulently offering settlements. SEIU 1021 members Valerie Taybron and SEIU Chief Steward W.D. Flient talk about how they fought illegal harassment and retaliation by management and the failure of the union leadership including union president Joseph Bryant to fight the racist bullying and systemic racism in the City.
They also report on the role of HR Human Resources Director in supporting the illegal discrimation and racist attacks against Black and other employees in San Francisco

WW 9-24-20 Racism, Covid, Corruption & Union Democracy In SEIU 1021

The issue of the struggle for union democracy in the SEIU was the focus of a panel which was part of a WorkWeek national panel.
Speakers included members from  SEIUI 1021, SEIU 73, SEIU UHW, SEIU 503 and SEIU 2015. The SEIU is one of the largest unions in the country with nearly 2 million members. It has over 750,000 members in California alone making it the largest union in the state. The previous president Andy Stern forced many of 
their locals including in the Bay Area  to merge into mega locals with 50,000 member  to over 100,000 members.
This was sold to the members by telling them it would make them a stronger union but some members some 
believe that this has not happened on the job.
In October of this year,  WorkWeek held a panel with SEIU members around the country who have been fighting 
for democratic election rights and transparency and the problems that they have had fighting for rank and file rights.
