New one Ive been working on. Ive got an analog synthesizer holding down the  the low end. I programed a bass line and It kind of rolls in and out. Then I am using my electric guild on the neck pickup with a fat rat and dual distortion/boost signal. The clean is coming from the right side engaged and the fuzz part is just the fat rat solo with distortion at about 4.  Signal is going into a Vox 15R that's mic'd with a fancy condenser about a foot away. The drum pattern I created here is a hard rock pattern that I slowed way way down to about 65 BPM and ran through a funk kit and some reverb and effects. This is kind of an homage to one of my favorite bands Duster or maybe Deftones. or just Guitar tones of the 90s.  I feel like its in their style and its what I had in mind.  Also been listening to a lot of John Frusciante. My take on trying to create a large distorted wall of sound.As with everything  I created and recorded this live at volume. Very little mastering here, just a little compression and EQ

The Soft Stars is a band from the Oakland/San Francisco bay area, California. Guitarist is currently working on a classical music album

Golda's awesome singing has been described as a mix between Siouxsie Sioux and Poly Styrene from the X-Ray Spex  with her own bold style. Golda and has been in lots of bands including DeathGlam and Golda and the Guns. 

Bassist and pianist Naomi plays classical piano and has played in experimental and punk bands such as Andy Human and the Reptoids, Echo of Bullets, Botskurd, The Next, and Sound Police. 

Drummer Kirk has played in bands such as powerviolence/hardcore band Malicious Dismemberment.  

Guitarist Stephen has played in a bunch of solo projects and bands that never escaped the practice studio such as Swiit Ashiikii (with members of Boyjazz, the Mae-Shi, and Pegataur).

The Soft Stars love music such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Unwound, Drive Like Jehu, Sonic Youth, the Stranglers, Killing Joke, Captain Beefheart, Spike in Vain, Wire, Joy Division, Live Skull, Swervedriver, Neil Young, My Bloody Valentine, MX-80 Sound, the Minutemen, James Brown, Josef K, Bauhaus, Hugh Mundell, etc.

Chicago based multi disciplinary artist. I cook for a living and while everyone else sleeps I record my music and paint. I’m a guitarist, synthesist, love my drum machines, sequencers, arpeggios, blues, drones, field recordings, psychedelic music, all live recordings, efx and stomp boxes, old condenser microphones, old analog guitar amps and equipment. this is a free space where I share a lot of different types of sounds that i make. I have a background in theory and classical training but mainly prefer to disregard that stuff and play by ear and improvise freely, everything here was played and recorded live at volume in my apartments, no direct ins. So if anything sounds rough, noisy, weird, that is the nature of the beast and live recording.
