Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng is a peace educator and professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is also the co-founder of three nonprofits: Ceeds of Peace, The Institute for Climate and Peace, and Peace Studio. This special conversation released on the International Day of Peace brings Maya together with her peace-building partners to examine the core values, principles, and ethos behind these organizations who are working hard to deliver #ActionsforPeace all year long! 

A message from the United Nations on Peace Day: 
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace.

This year’s theme - Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals -  is a call to action that recognizes our individual and collective responsibility to foster peace. Fostering peace contributes to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals will create a culture of peace for all.
