Tara - Goddess of Tibetan Buddhism - meditation in the Kopan monastery. During my stay in Nepal in April/May 1994, I spent one week in the monastery. The chanting with the tourist group and the Lama I recorded with my MC-Walkman, as well as the horns in the Swayambunath temple.

Heroes of the Ancient Hill" tells the story of a legendary hero, a character who embodies bravery, wisdom, and loyalty. He lives in a world where magical forces, bold warriors, cunning thieves, and devoted healers constantly clash in an eternal dance. This hero, both a formidable fighter and a strategist, bears the weight of a sacred mission and the belief that he must defend his people against invisible threats.

Throughout the verses, we meet a series of fascinating characters: the thief waiting for his moment to deceive, the magician who crafts powerful spells, and the cleric, protector of souls and faith. All these characters, imagined in the world of fantasy role-playing games, represent a collective vision of heroism, where each plays their part in defending an ideal, a land, or a cause.

Through this song, the listener is immersed in a universe where the epic and the mystical intertwine. The fight for survival, the quest for power, and the search for knowledge merge into a powerful narrative. Each of these heroes, whether warriors, magicians, or healers, shares a common goal: to leave behind a legacy worthy of remembrance. "Heroes of the Ancient Hill" is an anthem to heroism, to the endless struggle for glory and honor, and to the pursuit of immortality through deeds accomplished.

Seiichi Hiraoka was a classical guitarist of Japanese origin. He completed his studies at the Vienna Music Academy and also attended masterclasses with Alirio Diaz and Andres Segovia. From 1972, he performed as a concert guitarist in Vienna both as a solo artist and as part of the ‘Vienna Flute-Guitar Duo’, and he taught at various Viennese music colleges. His compositions are of an astonishing stylistic diversity, reflecting the musical and spiritual motifs of both Western and Oriental music. The composer applied the characteristics of classical music to different musical styles, blending them with the typical rhythms, harmonies and sounds of Spanish (Spanish Sounds), South American (Modern Classical South American), Japanese (Japanese Fusion) and Oriental-Arabic music (Arabic Modern Dance / Arabic Fusion), which accounts for the special charm his compositions exude. In addition, he composed works with a very personal touch and a wide range of atmospheric influences, from mystical to jazzy/rhythmic sounds (Fantasy Fusion / Experimental Flute), drawing on his own Japanese roots.
