RRR.  Rethink. Remake. Remix.  

This is an idea I've had for sometime and, in honor of the recent big round number (yesterday's was the 600th Interbay track posted--460 SoundCloud Exclusive tracks and a previous 140 tracks that had been posted on Facebook before moving to SoundCloud.  

The switch to SoundCloud came with some guidelines that the Facebook tracks did not have to follow--every track would need a vocal element (no instrumentals), every track would have more of an emphasis on song structure (no more pure soundscapes), and no track could exceed 10 minutes in length (believe it or not, Interbay tracks used to be even longer!).  

It was always planned that in addition to absolutely brand new Interbay tracks, I would digitize and share older tracks from my previous bands and post them here, and that I might share my own remixes of other artists' tracks (with their permission, of course)...and, I would rethink, remake, and remix the best of the earliest Interbay tracks--the ones that debuted on Facebook, to take advantage of the improvement of production skills and tools...and to bring them into compliance with the guidelines for posting on SoundCloud.  

This is the first of those Facebook tracks--called, at the time, "Experiments"--to have gone through this process.  This is the RRR version of Experiment 1, now titled "End of Eternity," as the video made for the Facebook upload was originally inspired by the Soviet film adaptation of Asimov's novel of the same name, which I had just recently watched.  It made sense then to craft vocals from some of the story beats from that story, to give what had been an instrumental the necessary vocal element.  

Not only was this the first Interbay track posted anywhere...it was also the first track that I'd produced purely on my laptop with FL Studio.  The original experiment was definitely primitive, but it did have some structure, so I thought it would make the perfect choice for the first RRR.

The arrangement was child-simple.  Stock FL Studio 808s, dominated by the Kick as a melodic element, the Plucked! generator, and an original preset I designed in 3Osc--and that was it.  For the RRR, I did a bit of mastering, I extended the opening sequence, I may have added an effect or two--but adding the vocals is probably the biggest change.  

This is STILL a SoundCloud Exclusive Interbay track (so the consecutive day streak continues--461 now!)  And I hope you'll be amused by where all this Interbay madness began, the first production to escape Phantom Laboratories West, reimagined and shared with you now.
