About the CD:
So another Mixmag Live! cd here, but there was a massive gap of anything rave related in the series so it's time to fix that. With non other than the first ever Mixmag cd... 01 (funnily enough). It rolls through Cox's mix of hardcore, or what I'd simply call early rave music via the epic "Atomic Matter" and "I want you forever". Dave Seaman's mix continues the 90's warehouse flavour with a pitched down selection. "Brass Disc" is a stand out along side "I'm Coming Hardcore" and "You Keep The Love". All in all... a ravetastic CD!

Sixth track from Ephemerol album. Ephemerol is a dark concept album based on the film 'Scanners'. Recorded live in three sessions on the 25th, 28th and 31st May 2025. 

It was recorded using a Yamaha psr-220, a mini Korg oscillator, a Beringher pro-150 and a Theramin plus the usual pedals and effects

There are no edits, overdubs or samples and it was recorded as a single track.

Roasting Scarecrow

This is one of my 'experimental' tunes. There's a medium speed techno/trance style beat with a lot of simple ambient guitar tones and some robot/tech noise throughout the whole song. The bass lines are prominent throughout the song and there are also 2 metal sections I incorporate with some guitar solos. It's different from my usual metal but I dig it. You may or may not dig it. 

The vocals are repetitive and catchy such as most techno/trance tunes.

Podcast series for @catacombsofutopolis

We can welcome Piotr alias @meszkov as our next guest for the Catacast podcast series!
For two years now he is constantly pushing techno and electronic music to the scene. With his rough and gloomy style he creates energetic sets that form a symbiosis of experimental noise, industrial and techno beats.

ambient, soundtrack and techno tracks with a dark and doomy, metal and industrial influence; I use cheap, scuzzy old out of date equipment, field recordings and analog synths. I mostly record live. Grit is Good.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
