Originally dropping back in 1999 on C4C Recordings, “Phatcap” has long been a staple of the neuro-heavy DnB scene. Now, TRCD injects the timeless drum loops and iconic bassline with a modern twist, honoring the original's spirit while giving it a fresh energy.

TRCD begins by resurrecting the rolling, punchy kick/snare combo that defined the original. From there, he refines the groove with crisp, meticulously layered hi-hats and sub-divided ghost snares. The result is a relentless, dancefloor-ready rhythm that jolts the track into 2025 territory.

That unmistakable sub-bass from the original remains intact—but TRCD enhances it with more punch and depth. Subsonic rumble underpins the rework, and occasional mid-range growls slide in, adding weight to the restructuring’s low-end.

Episode 213 - Field Trip - Summer Enrollment

For August's Playground: Field Trip we introduced two new Trip Monitors to the team. Miss Haze will be our resident MC, as well as taking her turns behind the decks, and Synesthesia brings his hard hitting selections to Trip Monitor team, keeping us with some of that heavy edge DJ NoMercy used to bring. For this residents' night we took 20 minute rotations to keep things fresh and meld our sounds together in true Trip Monitor fashion. I led off the night, followed by Synesthesia, then Miss Haze, with SkullDuck rounding out the rotation. Miss Haze kept on the mic through the night as well, with the crowd dancing on til the lights came on. I gave Synesthesia my place in the last rotation and closed out the night with a few choice tunes.

Machete is about the 1994 Rwandese genocide.  I wrote it a few years ago.  At the time, all discussion of the genocide was illegal in Rwanda.  They called it “the thing”.  This poem describes the first 24-hours of the genocide, which lasted four months. The Hutu militia, known as the Interahamwe, murdered about a million Tutsis and moderate Hutus.

I met Kabel back in 1998/99 in college and he introduced me to the jungle side of drum and bass. Too many years later he happened to be coming to Boston, so we made sure to get him on the Playground. It was great catching up with an old friend, and delivering drum and bass to the Twitch crowd. I opened the show with a half hour rolling vibe and passed off the decks to Kabel who ran for the next hour. We took 45 minute sets after that, with a bit of extra recess as well.

I've been collecting records from record shops in the UK London and elsewhere and Discogs, I have a huge record collection tape packs, and CDs. I love music, collecting tracks, and DJing. Influences include all garage crews from the 90s onwards and grime crews and dubstep crews from 2001 onwards sidewinder tape packs and pirate radio. Rinse FM kiss 1xtra and radio 1 I also like music influences from around the world drum n bass electronic house techno,from the us gangster rap and hip hop and love experimenting with new things check out my mix tapes on here mainly grime and dubstep as DJ s.k.y.n.e.t I'm also MC virusT big shout out to dj shotz,MC grime suspect MC sox,MC nightmare, MC outrage,MC UFO and DJ the Don 

Mr. EyesLee is a Boston-based DJ specializing in the soulful side of jungle and DnB, matching vocals and basslines with three deck blends and cuts to bring the listener on an auditory journey. Mr. EyesLee plays sets full of blends and moods from 160 bpm and up, taking the listener on a journey from start to finish. Whether 160, jungle, liquid, or rollers, he always has a heavy focus on basslines that move the crowd, wasting little energy as he blends tracks and themes and keeps the dancefloor wanting more

After coming up through the southeastern US rave scene in the late 90s/early 00s, Mr. EyesLee now primarily performs around New England, currently holding residencies at elements (the longest running single-venue DnB weekly in North America) and Playground: Field Trip in Cambridge, MA, and has played events from small weeklies, to long-running monthlies, and large festivals from CT to ME. Highlights include Tropical Dreams in Sturbridge, MA, Tight Crew raves in Providence, RI and Boston, MA, and opening support for acts such as BCee, Degs, and Paul T & Edward Oberon. 

In addition to live shows, Mr. EyesLee also runs the Playground, “Your Sunday destination for dnb, jungle, and other high tempo tunes”, streaming Sundays 8-11PM EDT, on Twitch.tv/MrEyesLee, and first Sunday live Field Trips at Zuzu in Cambridge, MA, with guests having come from around New England and beyond in 200+ shows and counting. The Playground focuses primarily on Drum & Bass/Jungle and associated subgenera, letting DJs showcase their take on DnB. Guests have come from around New England and beyond, with every state in the region, along with CA, NY, NJ, and VA, having been represented at least once among the 200+ weekly shows to date.
