A logical next show after my Neurofunk and Technoid specials would be to do a Techstep special! However, I've already done several more pure Techstep shows in the last few years, so I decided to focus on only vinyls that were released in 1997 - including the seminal Torque LP, the most defining Techstep album if you ask me. I don't think everything in this mix could necessarily be classified Techstep, but it's close enough. I really enjoyed this exploration and mix of contemporary tunes! I hope you also will.

"Sinvasion" was originally completed around the tail end of December 2024 with the intention of being submitted to Novatone's eighth annual OGC (Obscure Genre Challenge) series.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse and I found myself spiraling for months after being let go from the label and dealing with the aftermath of my partner's mother's death. It seemed like the universe was out to get me, and I was fully ready to give everything up.

After talking it out with Spirit Loops, we ultimately decided to release this single into the open...

I've been a fan of the darker side of drum & bass for at least two decades. Artists like Evol Intent and Technical Itch played an integral role in my own productions as a fledgling producer. "Sinvasion" is an unabashed tribute to mid 00's techstep, and I'm incredibly proud of how it turned out.

Kodeka | Full Spectrum Bristol Collective Takeover | Croakheads Guest Mix | DnB Mix

A cyclical narrative mix based on the BBC film Threads (1984) and the video game and TV series "Fallout" by Interplay Productions (1997). This mix is designed to be a warning. The mix follows the story of a nuclear bomb simulation, followed by the devastating fallout and nuclear winter caused by the war. The mix then builds up to real 2025 interviews from recent events, leading to fake BBC broadcasts to go back to the beginning. History repeating itself.

The last composition in this mix was made by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who was an anti-war activist. It is related to the horrors and devastation caused by Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We are a growing grassroots community of DJs based in South West of England/London.

A DJ with a distinct preference for dark and moody sounds, with the occasional indulgence into flat out agressive sounds, Uncut Anger has been active since 2001.

As a member of the now defunct Utreg Massive, Uncut Anger was known for the graveyard shifts with hard as nails drum & bass sets, incorporating the occasional hardcore techno sounds when the mood was right. His technical prowess behind the decks earned him gigs alongside the likes of Technical Itch, Limewax and Evol Intent.

As a counterbalance he anonymously donned the Beast of Legend moniker which allowed him to express his love for the deeper sounds in drum & bass. Independently from the Uncut Anger alias, this also got him appreciation from peers unaware of his angry moniker.

As years passed Uncut Anger's attention broadened, causing him to listen to other sounds and changing his studio equipment. No longer feeling the need to fit in a box or niche or feeling the pressure to score gigs, this allowed him to play just whatever he feels like. However, darkness is ever right around the corner.

Originally from Amsterdam, and now based in Cambridge UK, Dr. Squee has been into DnB since before the turn of the century and DJing for more than two decades. Long time resident DJ on DnB radio Jungletrain.net, currently on a bi-weekly Tuesday evening schedule (21:00-23:00 UK time).

Mike DeBisco is an internationally recognized music producer and Game Awards nominated video game composer based in New Jersey. His musical journey began in 2005 and he has since evolved into a fierce talent of the underground electronic music scene.

DeBisco's diverse sound blends breaks, chiptune, house, and hardcore, demonstrating his musical versatility. He has released tracks on countless independent labels including Kniteforce, GameGrooves, HPTG Music, Ravertooth Tiger, and Novatone. His work has also been featured in various rhythm games like osu!, God of Rock, BoomBox and Dance Dash.
