The Darkest Soul was first written and recorded in 1988.  I re-imagined it in 2019 and decided to re-record the whole track this weekend (minus the vocals).  I am more proud of this recording than anything I have done before.  I would say it is the sum total of everything I do well.   Please feel free to compare this version with the others recently posted.

This is the fourth of a multi-volume journey through my earliest musical memories - tracks that I loved or made an impression on me while growing up.

These polished memories are from Junior High and into High School. I went from a New Wave kid to a full on punk in these years. Had a Mohawk and loved Dead Kennedys but still woke up to the radio and MTV was going strong.

After each track I credit the underlying work and the year of its release.

I am a House DJ, so all of the tracks I have acquired over the years, be it vinyl or digital, are remixed at dance floor bpm so get up and dance!

Over a 40 year span, I have written a countless number of songs, alone or in collaboration with others.  Here, you will find the product of those efforts with many songs recently re-recorded.  Frequently, earlier versions live here as well. All songs were written by me (RC Sterling) unless otherwise noted.  While several singers contribute to what you hear, the most common element across the material is a commitment to crafting catchy pop/rock/alternative tunes. In some instances AI programs have been used to isolate older vocal tracks when the original audio files could not be found.  All tracks have been auto tuned and pitch corrected as needed. Unfortunately, nothing could help those demos that featured my lead vocals. 😁
