Dan Jones is a UK based rock guitarist with an appetite for bluesy, riffy, progressive music. He leans towards a unique fusion of styles, wrapped in a melodic sound. The listener is treated to a complex and enjoyable journey and is left wanting more.
Drawing on influences from classic rock, prog, blues and jazz, the listener will hear echoes of guitarists such as Dave Gilmour, Steve Hackett, Jimmy Page, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. 
Lockdown Album
Like many other musicians in 2020, Dan found a lifeline within his music during lockdown. With time on his hands, he was able to sift through several years of material, carefully listening and selecting songs which really connected his style and meant something to him emotionally. Some were complete demos while others were strong riffs or chord progressions. The scene was set to face up to the challenge, overcome adversity, and put out his first solo project, Zero Four Nine. 
Production
Dan has a keen eye for song writing, music production and an overarching direction for his sound. The one thing he wanted to do was to take his time and enjoy the process, crafting each song both musically and sonically, resulting in a high-quality production. This led to Zero Four Nine being a punchy rock album which moves through heavy riffs, solid walls of guitar, searing solos, memorable melodic lines, and odd time signatures, taking the listener on a trip which will surprise and delight.
Highlights
A genuine highlight from the album, and one of Dan’s personal favourites, is Disclosure. A catchy, piano intro is followed by a main riff and sombre melody, building to a memorable chorus. The Dream Theatre inspired instrumental riff-ending, with an arpeggiated outro, asks the question ‘Are we alone?’
History
Dan has been able to draw on a wealth of experience and bring this to his new project, having been the guitarist with The Dreaming Tree, a UK based progressive rock outfit from Wolverhampton. Having released four albums with The Dreaming Tree, Dan has previously been featured in the UK national music press, including Classic Rock, Powerplay, Fireworks and The Classic Rock Society. In the USA he has featured in Progression Magazine and Europe. 
Dan and The Dreaming Tree saw their 2010 release Progress Has No Patience receive critical acclaim in Classic Rock magazine, making the editor’s choice of top twenty albums for that year.

As an instrumental album Zero Four Nine stands up as a recording you will want to play again. Turn it up to 11 and enjoy!

New World is the latest offering by Fools Tongue. This is an epic concept album that crosses musical genres and has drawn comparisons to Peter Gabriel, Sting, U2, Crosby Stills Nash Young, Daniel Lanois, Sigur Ros, and Steely Dan amongst others. It follows the story of a man as he is pulled out of his familiar home by a woman throwing stones at his window and beckoning him to follow her into a new world. 

Fools Tongue sits somewhere between World, Pop, and Alternative in terms of musical style. Jeff Ramsey covers the Bowed Guitar as well as vocals, Luke Ertman plays Chapman Stick and also sings. They are inspired by world percussion and thick vocal harmonies. It’s these influences along with their pop sensibilities that has created the unique and familiar sounds in New World.
