Roberts Blossom, ook wel bekend als buurman Marley in de film Home Alone, is op 87-jarige leeftijd overleden.
Roberts overleed vrijdag in Santa Monica. Dit heeft zijn dochter Deborah bevestigd aan New York Post. Roberts stierf een natuurlijke dood.
De acteur werd bekend door zijn rollen in Home Alone, The Great Gatsby, Escape from Alcatraz en Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Eind jaren '90 zette Roberts na twintig jaar een punt acter zijn acteercarrière, omdat hij zich wilde ontwikkelen als dichter.

Het lijkt wel de dag van gisteren dat ik hem met zijn sneeuwschep zag rondlopen. Hij had een leuke rol in Home Alome.

Sterkte aan de familie. Een gemis in de film wereld is het uiteraard niet. Leuke bijrol in Home Alone natuurlijk, maar er is geen groots acteur heen gegaan.
De man heeft een mooie leeftijd behaald. Had het idee dat hij in die film al zo oud was.

Haha inderdaad! Hij was toen 'pas' 67, maar leek veel ouder.
Hij leek me echt een sympathieke vent, zonder sterallures. Gewoon, een lieverd.
Dhr. Blossom speelde onder meer ook in Deranged ('n zeldzame hoofdrol!), The Great Gatsby, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Escape from Alcatraz, Christine, Doc Hollywood en The Quick and the Dead. Toch wel een aardig lijstje.

What else can you say but that the man was great. He was great with Jane Fonda. He was great with Faye Dunaway. He was great with Debra Winger and Demi Moore. He was even great with guys like Sidney Poitier and of course his long friendship with Paul Newman. Dave bowed out this time, but Luke showed up to do a back-to-back recordings and this is our tribute to a great actor whom we will miss on the silver screen.
