These days listening to a lot of Soulful House & Nu Disco.  I muck about making mixes while my Mrs watches shite on TV. I only mix tunes I personally like....

Guillermo Aguilera started djing in 2005 in private parties, mixing mainly house music. Later on he shared stage in some parties with international psytrance djs like Gataka and Electro Sun, and some mainstream mexican djs like Oscar Velázquez, Kermit & The Beat Team.

He also got some residencies in clubs of the city such as Brooklyn Rooftop and Spazio, where sometimes the sets included live musicians and percusionists. Besides he has played guest mixes and warmups or afters in other clubs around Distrito Federal like Velvet, Lilit Bar, Little Mommy, Janis, BRDWY, Joplin, Main Room and some others around the country. 

Nowadays all of his sets inlvove a variety of genres, varing from deep house and nu-disco to future house and tech house, but always with an uplifting syle.

As featured on the House Nation radio show, Housebound Radio, Even Funkier Radio show, the Disco Waltons show, Feel Good Friday on NDC Radio and Diamond Radio.

Hailing from Aberdeen but now living in Edinburgh, Ewan's love of music started from an early age when he started to listen to soul, funk and disco.  In 1993, Ewan started listening to Pete Tong's Essential Selection and Essential Mix shows and his love of house music started.

A pair of belt drive turntables and basic mixer were purchased shortly afterwards and Ewan started DJing at house parties and birthday parties while at University.  The belt drives were upgraded to 1210s which he still owns and Ewan continued to play at local parties, gigs and events. 

30 years on Ewan still likes to collect a broad range of disco and soulful house-music although the tempo has moderated over the years.  He makes regular recordings to share with like-minded music fans and has featured on the Even Funkier radio show, the Disco Waltons show on NDC Radio and Diamond Radio. He references Graeme Park (fellow Aberdeen fan), MAW, Dave Lee, Norman Jay, Dimitri from Paris and Frankie Knuckles as major influencers .

Set up by DJs Nick Shaw and Ed Cotton and promoter Olly Hewett, Basement Boogaloo began life beneath the streets of Nottingham and developed into one of the city's best-loved parties. It had three simple ingredients: a dancefloor full of like-minded musical souls, a crystal-clear sound system and some of the best DJ talent from across the disco galaxy. 

Here you can listen to some of our radio shows and mixes from the past few years.

Over the course of 7 or so years, the parties moved from Bar None (a tiny basement bolthole) to the Maze (a rowdy local venue which perfectly suited the night's sweaty brand of hedonism) via famed bank holiday all-dayers and NYE shakedowns in Notts, and appearances at the Electric Chair, the Electric Elephant and the Garden Festival in Croatia. The gang also hosted a series of parties and two killer NYEs at The Star of Bethnal Green and a series of more intimate basement affairs in Stoke Newington, London.

Basement Boogaloo would have been nothing without the guests it hosted over the years. Consisting of a fine selection of family and friends and some bona fide scene heavyweights, they included:

Michael Caffin, better known by his artist name Soul Jawa, is an American deep house producer based out of San Diego, California. He is a Dutch native with family roots tracing back to the Dutch Colonial era of the East Indies - known now as Indonesia. Both of his parents originated from the Indonesian island Java, or Jawa, by locals. 

He studied music at a young age while also producing mixtapes with multi reel-to-reels and turntables. When moving to San Diego, he took a much needed break. Thereafter, he explored remixing instead and surprisingly received a welcoming response from established artist—such as, The Shapeshifters, Dutchican Soul, and DJ Chickawowwow of StreetSoundsRadio (UK). 

Now, with guidance from local industry expert—Oscar P, he is dropping his own tracks on record labels such as Kolour Recordings (Detroit), Open Bar Music (NYC), and HEAVY (NYC). It also allowed him to produce "Deep Quest Essentials", which airs weekly on Starguardz Radio, Amsterdam and Brabant Mfm Radio, all available on Soundcloud.
