Stage Struck #79: Hot Takes!

Ingrid Rygg Vocal Reel - 2026 (Musical Theatre)

Alice: Return to Wonderland will be audio described in English at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff on Saturday 13 December 2025 at 7pm. There will also be a Touch Tour at 6.30pm, where you will go on a guided tour around the set, where I will explain in detail what it looks like.

The show will begin in Cardiff on Christmas Eve in 1947. Years after her first visit to Wonderland, grown-up Alice is now a town planner working for the City of Cardiff. Just as she prepares to work on her latest building project, she is interrupted by the sudden arrival of an old, fluffy friend. Soon Alice will have to leave Cardiff behind and return to Wonderland in a race against time to save her daughter Carys from the clutches of the evil Red Queen.

This show is a re-imagining of the second Alice book Through the Looking Glass and features many of the characters from Alice in Wonderland. 

The set is designed by Elin Steele with Andy Pike designing the lighting.  

The music in this play has been composed by Lucy Rivers and the sound was designed by Sam Jones. Barnaby Southgate is the Musical Director and he plays the keyboard throughout the show. 

The cast of actor musicians, act, sing and play a range of musical instruments live on stage to help tell the story. 

- ELIAIN MAI WEST plays the title role of Alice, she also played Alice in the Sherman’s 2018 production of Alice in Wonderland.  
-MARI FFLUR plays Alice’s daughter Carys. Mari plays the clarinet in the show. 
-CAITLIN LAVAGNA plays Lady Bute and the Red Queen. Caitlin also plays the drums.
-JOSEPH TWEEDALE plays Lord Bute and the Red King.  Joseph also plays the trumpet.
-MAX JAMES plays Mr Hatton and Hatter and plays Guitar. 
-OLIVER WOOD plays one of the twins, Humpty Dumpty & Tweedle Dum. Oli also plays the bass guitar.
-EMILY IVANA HAWKINS plays one of the twins, the Unicorn and Tweedle Dee. Emily also plays the bass guitar. 
-KEIRON SELF makes his 11th appearance in a Sherman Christmas show and this year plays Nigel and White Rabbit. 
-ZARA LAW is an apprentice actor and will be playing various supporting roles including the Card Guard.

SILENT HEARTS: Letters to Chaplin is a cinematic concept album inspired by the films and inner world of Charlie Chaplin.
This is not a soundtrack. These are quiet letters written through dust, light, hunger, love, silence, and fragile humanity.

Each track is a small silent story — about a little man inside a big world.
About poverty that still knows tenderness.
About laughter that hides pain.
About love that remains unseen.
About applause that comes too late.

This album was created as a single continuous emotional film — 12 frames, 12 confessions, 12 moments between shadow and light.
No loud statements. No heroes. Only a human breathes behind the mask.

For those who still hear silence.
For those who still believe in tenderness.

50% of the songs here have been AI aided in the production phase but one thing remain constant here, the chords used, the lyrics, the tune are all original. We record one Verse/PC/C, and then AI will "gacha". All inconsistencies are edited with DAW. None of the songs on this channel here are finished complete productions. By doing this, we can ready a sample in less 3~4 days. If u still do not understand how wonderful this is for busy people with day time job, then good for u. Which means u have already ascended to the level that u make a huge killing from producing music =) 

Our group have lawyers, engineers, doctors and even ecologist etc. So its pure hobby for now but we are planning for bigger things. Afterall, many of the music on this channel are pure nostalgia from the 80s to 2010s. We recreate songs that we crave since more than half the group are boomers. =[

So no. Dont have to like the songs. =) We aint here to hunt for likes. We have other motives in our own production circle for 2026.
