We’re discussing The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for its 20th anniversary. The Two Towers is the second film in director Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy epic. It was released on December 18 2002. Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) form an uneasy alliance with Gollum (Andy Serkis) on their journey to destroy the Ring in the sequel to The Fellowship of the Ring. The Lord Of The Rings - Hobbits

Today we visit Middle Earth and discuss the score to "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim" with Emmy award-winning Composer Stephen Gallagher and Grammy award-winning Producer/Engineer Mark Willsher. Their goal in this project was to “honour the narrative of the film by blending the beloved design and musical language of the original Lord of the Rings trilogy with ideas befitting Kamiyama-san's beautiful hand-drawn anime.” 

We discuss learning from and enjoying the differences between "The War of the Rohirrim" and the original live action LOTR trilogies in terms of workflow and creative style. We also cover thematic material, composition/mixing techniques and  the value of having a trusted collaboration!

Biography:

Jared Moreno Luna, born in Cádiz on May 20, 1997, better known artistically as Jared Moreno, is a spanish composer and music producer.

His professional career begins in 2015, the same year which he founded his own record label called Different Records, considered by many to be the best spanish electronic music record label today. 

With the freedom to release any type of idea and genre thanks to Different Records, Jared Moreno's musical technique has evolved over the years, coming to focus on dance pop and downtempo genres with a certain innovation and particularity, giving rise to a clear stamp of his identity on each song. 

In addition to electronic music he have always had a passion for the orchestra and cinematic music, but it's not until 2018 when he decides to share all his orchestra works with the world starting with his version of "Avengers: Infinity War" theme.

Join professional musician, Christine Smith, as she discusses topics that face the day-to-day lives of those responsible for making the music we all love.
