Thievery Corporation was formed in the summer of 1995 at Washington D.C.'s Eighteenth Street Lounge. Rob Garza and Lounge co-owner Eric Hilton were drawn together over their mutual love of club life, as well as dub, bossa nova and jazz records. Their musical style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern, hip hop, electronica, and Brazilian, including bossa nova.

Este é meu primeiro rework/mashup, feito com duas músicas de artistas cujo trabalho eu sempre admirei e foram das minhas primeiras inspirações quando comecei a me interessar por pesquisa musical. A idéia surgiu após experimentar mixar os dois sons juntos em um set que gravei, e como gostei do resultado, decidi produzir a faixa completa da forma correta. Usei a base melódica e os vocais de “Meu Destino” e inclui o beat de “Return to Jericho”, e adicionei outros samples e elementos da versão original.

This is my first rework/mashup, made with two songs by artists whose work I've always admired and were one of my first inspirations when I started to get interested in music research. The idea came after experimenting mixing the two sounds together in a set I recorded, and as I liked the result, I decided to produce the complete track in the right way. I used the melodic base and vocals from “Meu Destino” and included the beat from “Return to Jericho”, and added other samples and elements from the original version.

Bio Bird:

Born  in the Swiss mountains during the early Seventies, Bird was strongly influenced through radio and his parents' collection from an early age and ultimately developed a strong fascination for music. 
Just how much music means to him, what his influences are and his developments as a DJ have already been elaborately captured in various biographies in the past and would merely lead to yet another repetition of every other DJs life. 
That Bird has spent numerous years as a DJ in clubs around Switzerlands capital, as well as a vinyl dealer and store owner of SchwarzMarktMusic and recently joined the Sirion Records Crew is nevertheless noteworthy but delivers no further insight to his person per se.  
If you want to experience Bird, then follow him to his gigs and be captured by his definition of House music, instead of reading yet another DJs bio...

Bio Pat Muvembe

Pat Muvembe aka Bird is a sort of an institution when it comes to electronic music in Switzerland’s capital city.

DJing since the early 90ies with gigs in some historical Swiss venues as the Alte Markthalle in Bern or Love Zoo in Neuchatel, he was also vinyl dealer and owner of the "Schwarz Markt" record store - one of the very few we ever had in our city. Today he's moderator of the Galaxy Space Night on the local radio station RaBe and member of the record label “Sirion”. Through all those experiences and years of dedication, Padi achieved an overwhelming musical knowledge.

As Bird he plays club oriented DJ-Sets, making move booties everywhere he spins his Vinyl. As Pat Muvembe, he dedicate himself to different music directions knowing no boundaries and just following the heart. Just relax and enjoy music for your mind, body and soul.
