Hear me, you well-gifted man!
Is not this life uncertain and delusive?
Are not its pleasures and enjoyments like a mirage? 
Is there any peace here in Samsara?
Is not its false felicity as unreal as a dream?
Are not both praise and blame empty as an echo? 
Are not all forms the same as the Mind-nature? 
Are not Self-mind and the Buddha identical?
Is not the Buddha the same as the Dharmakaya?
Is not the Dharmakaya identical with Truth?
The enlightened one knows that all things are mental; 
Therefore one should observe one's mind by day and night.
If you watch it, you can still see nothing. 
Fix then your mind in this non-seeing state.
There is no self-entity in Milarepa's mind;
I, myself, am the Mahamudra;
Because there is no difference between Static
and Active Meditation,
I have no need for the different stages in the Path. 
Whatever they may manifest, their essence is Voidness;
There is neither mindfulness nor non-
mindfulness in my contemplation.
I have tasted the flavor of Non-existence;
Compared to other teachings, this is the highest.
The Yoga-practice of the Nadis, Prajna, and Bindu,
The teaching of Karma Mudra and of Mantra Yoga, 
The practice of visualizing Buddha and the
Four Pure Positions,
These are only the first steps in Mahayana. 
To practice them uproots not lust and hate.
Bear what I now sing firmly in your minds;
All things are of the Self-mind, which is void. 
He who ne'er departs from the 
Experience and Realization [of the Void),
Without effort has accomplished all practices of worship and discipline.
In this are found all merits and marvels!

TLC was honored to host Venerable Lingtrul Rinpoche, a Vajrayana Buddhist meditation master, at our fourth public event on Sept. 27, 2015. Rinpoche had kindly agreed to introduce the profound method of p’howa, the transference of consciousness, utilized during the transition of dying. This p’howa teaching is from the Longsal Nyingpo lineage. Traditionally, one would need to receive a formal transmission or empowerment to accomplish this practice. While living in Tibet, Lingtrul Rinpoche received all the transmissions of the Clear Light Great Perfection from the remarkable master, Khenpo Munsel and practiced all the stages of the Vajrayana from the preliminary practices through Trekchod and Todgal in retreat. He presently resides in the SF Bay Area and at his residence at Kathok Gonpa in Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada.

Tara - Goddess of Tibetan Buddhism - meditation in the Kopan monastery. During my stay in Nepal in April/May 1994, I spent one week in the monastery. The chanting with the tourist group and the Lama I recorded with my MC-Walkman, as well as the horns in the Swayambunath temple.

The very popular and best selling self-help book by don Miguel Ruiz is actual a manual on spiritual by-passing and one of the best examples of hypocrisy. Why? What is my evidence? It was the most frequently discarded book at my sister's used book store and until recently I hadn't met a single person who had found peace from it. And it did not seem to stop people going loco in panic when the convid was advanced and self-inflicted injections of unknown toxins with unknown efficacy and long term effects were embraced as health. I also again discover the trite pot calling the pot black: I was surprised to find my own deep and subtle hypocrisies in the investigation and for that the poorly written book of good ideas helped me to see a poor foundation of some of my best ideas! I re-look at 'have to' and 'should' as seriously black magic lie-spell words. Enjoy.

The Humanistic Buddhism Centre (HBC) is committed to the research and development of Humanistic Buddhism as well as community engagement.  The Centre identifies and undertakes innovative projects that contribute to the scholarly and teaching communities. In recent years, I've become a refugee in the time of covid. I mostly write prose and poetry. I hope to return to reading with music.
My main focus is yoga, meditation and research of Gautama Buddha and health of body and society. I'm creating a yoga centre outside of Oaxaca City to share my discoveries of exploration in this place called 'truth in a pathless landscape', to paraphrase Krishnamurti.
