As requested, here's my set from the Queen Vic at the Tidyland Weekender at Pontins Southport on 7th July! You know what to expect from me by now... I decided to get out a few of my favourite bounce tunes from the last couple of years with a few harder bits thrown in towards the end. Had loads of great feedback from you all about this set and it was ace to see so many of you on the dancefloor despite it being so early in the day, as well as extremely sweaty in the Vic! Hope you all had a great weekend and hopefully we'll be doing it all again next summer!

The Kat is out the bag and ready to play. 

Making her debut set out in 2007, The Kat's musical performances have evolved just as much as she has. She has experimented with Breakbeat, Electro, Funky House, Psytrance and techno but it was in  2016 that she dived in fully to the love that had always been there but never explored - Hard House and she entered the journey that would see her rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. 

Since discovering this amazing mixing genre that had been missing her whole life she has achieved an enormous amount and is still going from strength to strength. Starting her The Kat Presents page she caught the scenes eye with her epic live streamed house parties and when she felt like she know knew the genre inside and out she decided to turn the lime light on herself.

Using the way the art of performing with music has evolved to her advantage, her captivating live shows really gave her the chance to show everyone what she is made of. Energetically joyful performances drew the viewers in and brought them smack bang into the middle of her happy bubble with mixing and music. Learning the art of ‘working under pressure’ with her ropey Numark 200 decks as her tools, her love for performing to the full holding up signs and chatting to all the viewers all at the same time as beat matching and mixing really made her a powerful force.

Her first time to showcase this new persona was by being given a residency at a multi genre day party called SPLAT. This gave her the opportunity to keep experimenting to a crowd on a regular basis and kept her growing and growing as a DJ. It was then when she was signed to Premonition Artists that she finally got her big opportunity to give that show stopping performance as she blew the heads off everyone still left on the dance floor in a closing set at one of Premonitions parties at PST. The set is still talked about now... and that was it, she had arrived.

Since 2017 there seems to be no end to what she can achieve. Playing for brands such as Twist, Frantic, Xstatic, Vinyl Warriors, Off Your Carrot, Juicy, Korruption, her proudest achievement to date is being initiated as a Warrior Princess with her residency with the Warriors brand which took her to play at the closing party of Xstatic Ibiza in 2019 and 2020.

The Kat is currently focussing more on the production side of things, since getting her own home studio set up in 2016. By 2019 she had learned a lot, but really wanted to push her knowledge further. So she booked several sessions to work with Ben Stevens to fine tune her work and it wasn't long before she was producing tracks on her own with confidence. Her whole life she has dreamed of playing sets full of all her own music, and with all the hard work over the last few years she has now reached that point. 

The Kat absolutely blew away her audience on her Birthday party in 2019 with the exciting premier of her first ever full producers set. The dancefloor was absolutely captivated as she took them on twists and turns with her euphoric yet gritty style. For her, this was it, the ultimate rush that music could provide her, creating her very own handmade journey through the dancefloor whenever she is booked to play an event. She currently has around 50 of her own tracks in her armoury and it's constantly adding more. Her main goal as a musical performer is to take you on a journey, so if you ever get a chance to see The Kat play then please do not miss out, as she will use her music to make you reach absolute euphoria on the dancefloor every time.

General Bounce is West Yorkshire based DJ and producer Dave Gray, who has become a prominent figure in UK clubland playing hard dance, bounce and house.

Obsessed with dance music from an early age, Dave has been an active club DJ ever since he turned 18 in 2001, starting on the local club & bar circuit playing everything from house and speed garage to trance and hard dance, before finally settling into the hard dance scene in 2005 with a residency for Shock in Wakefield. He quickly became known for his widely-influenced and versatile DJ sets, combining as many elements as possible from the genres he loves. When Shock ended in 2007 Dave began making regular appearances on the Northern bounce scene, and over the next 4 years Dave was privileged to play at venues such as Wigan Pier and Doncaster Warehouse. Hard dance remained a passion of his during this time, and in 2007 he came third in the Parlez Vous DJ Competition.

Things came to a head in 2010 when he was picked up by the Cheeky Tracks brand as a resident DJ and producer. Dave held a residency in the Cheeky Tracks room at Rave On in Leeds for the next 2 years, and since then he has become a regular face behind the decks at hard dance and bounce events nationwide, performing at prestigious events and venues including the Tidy Weekender, BTID, Frantic, Storm, Rejuvenation and many more.

Since taking his first steps as a producer in 2006, Dave has had several solo and collaborative releases, collaborating with both established producers and new artists on the scene, co-producing some of his collaborators' first big hits and even being played on BBC Radio 1. To date Dave has produced over 50 tracks which been supported by some of the biggest names in hard dance, such as Hannah Laing, Kutski, BK, Rob Tissera, Technikal, Andy Whitby, Anne Savage, Amber D and Lisa Pin Up. His collaboration with fellow hard house producer Rick James “Ibuleve” was featured on Hannah Laing's exclusive DJ mix for Spotify in 2022, and his last solo release “House Trafficking” topped the Toolbox Digital Shop store chart for over a week. He has also collaborated on a UK hard trance track with his idol Rob Tissera, called “Get Up Stand Up”.

Dave is an ardent believer in playing all genres of dance music, exposing his audience to new sounds and making his sets as varied as possible. Through doing this he has developed a trademark sound of vocal, uplifting rave music that's both tough and fun. Dave's passion for all genres of music runs deep, and so does his collection. This earned him a residency at Void in Manchester's gay village - an afterhours venue where he regularly played 3 - 4 hour sets of upfront funky and vocal house, through to the lighter side of hard dance. Dave was a resident for the whole 6 years of the club’s lifetime, and played the final set there on his birthday in 2020, when Void closed its doors for good. He continues to spend most weekends DJing for various events nationwide, and since 2021 he has played annually at the Unity In The Sun festival in Corfu. He also hosts a monthly podcast showcasing his label's releases as well his versatility as a DJ. 

In 2012 Dave went from being a Cheeky Tracks artist to co-owner of the label, and took full ownership of the brand in 2015. Under his ownership, he has established the label as one of the biggest selling independent labels in the hard house scene, consistently appearing in the top 10 across several download stores. 12 Cheeky Tracks releases were rated Hard Dance Tune Of The Month in Mixmag from 2014 to its final print edition in 2020.

Over 22 years after his DJ career began, Dave is showing no sign of slowing down and continues to go from strength to strength.  Whatever path Dave's career takes, you can be sure he will continue to do play music the way he believes it should be.... happy, uplifting and stomping!
