Episode 004 was pulled from the vault and then routed to a secure desk for Form 22-B, confirming “recorded in 2022” in triplicate. it went to the Department of Redundant Approvals, received three identical stamps, and was logged in two separate ledgers that disagree about page numbers. the file name was updated from final.wav to final_final.wav to FINAL_2022_MASTER.wav, per policy. After which it was renamed "I don't wanna stand up anymore", it was uploaded, checksumed, downloaded for verification, and carried down a hallway that returns to the same door. next came the radius-clause review, a noise-complaint check, and a quick legal scan for sample clearance. scheduling moved twice to satisfy a calendar memo. a platform audit flagged a temporary “review pending,” which was cleared after paperwork and a supervisor note. the mix was then QC’d, re-QC’d, level-matched, and archived again so it could be un-archived correctly. the committee on committees met and agreed the earlier committee had, in fact, met. result: a loud, honest snapshot from 2022 — plenty of surface-level DNB with a few buried gems. not the current blueprint, but it hits. press play and mind the dust.

Here we are with a new track! Well, it’s actually not brand new: we wrote and recorded it over 3 years ago, way before we got on SoundCloud. Now we’ve re-recorded and polished it quite a bit, and here it is.😊
Evolution (Talking With the Past) is a journey through time and generations, exploring memories, changes, and reflections on the past. From ’99 to 2026, we tell how time flies, taking away everything that seemed eternal, but leaving moments of real emotion, energy, and life. It’s a mix of nostalgia and pure energy, with guitars, synths, and a solid groove that we hope will make you feel it.😌

Spend a bewildering few minutes with Interbay this Monday morning with another Rethink, Remake, Remix of a track that originally debuted on Facebook.  In its original form, this track was Experiment 52--but now, with the updates and revisions that the RRR process brings to these tracks, it becomes an "Xpansion Xperience."

So, enjoy this trip.  And it IS a trip.  

This is the soundtrack for suddenly realizing that the walls have started to move and the faces of those around you don't look quite right.  Colors seem more vivid, so much so you feel like you can smell the color green and you can taste the color pink.  

It is strange, but it is beautiful.  And you just get past the point of being frightened so you can appreciate this expanded consciousness when the dusty old record needle gets to the inner groove and the tone arm lifts on its own and returns to its off record position, and the record player shuts off...bringing you back to this world...where everything is so depressingly normal.  

(This is how someone who has never done any psychedelics imagines what it would be like...in music.)  

The video that originally accompanied this experiment when it was posted on Facebook back in 2023, included lots of scenes of San Francisco in the late 60s and early 70s, hanging with the freaks in the Haight Ashbury neigborhood...driving around the city at night.  It helped the track provide a dreamy vibe, like you were floating around in time.  

The music does that too...while much of the track is dominated by a heavily effect-laden guitar riff, you will occasionally drift into some double bass driven, brushes on the kit, jazzy blues...and other times, just the hint of modern dance music seems to blend into whatever journey to the past we may have thought we were on...  

...and all lthe time, you hear someone singing "woo woo"s.  (That almost became the name I gave this track after putting it through the RRR wringer--so, as cringe as Xpansion Xperience might seem...it could have been "Woo Woo." )

I'm a little worried about this track because it isn't the typical blend of post-punk and modern electronic dance music that most Interbay tracks end up being--but I think it still fits within the parameters of what Interbay can be.  

If you disagree, you might need to expand your consciousness.  

Not necessarily experienced, but mutated.  

This is one of the RRR mixes where not a lot has changed from Experiment to SoundCloud.  Some additional vocal elements, a slightly rearranged structure, and a new mix and master.  

So, take a short trip into time and space with "Xpansion Xperience" from Interbay.

Originally from the Wirral (OMD land!), I now live in London. Almost all of my career was in IT, Project Management and lack of time and technology meant I never really pursued a music career. The lockdown and technology advances have meant I could teach myself and learn to compose songs. I don’t like to stick to one genre but rather try and ‘parody’ styles. Some melodies have been in my head for years and in some cases words have changed over the years. My aim is really to creat a ‘potpourri’ of sounds such that someone somewhere will enjoy something on here!!!!
