🌿 Meaning & Biblical Inspiration Behind the Song
The title of this song comes directly from Luke 10:41-42, where Jesus gently corrects Martha for being anxious and overly concerned with many things, while Mary chooses the "one thing necessary"—intimacy with Christ.

📖 Luke 10:41-42 – "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."

🙏 Prayer for Martha – Choosing the One Thing Necessary
Heavenly Father,

I come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up every heart that, like Martha, feels overwhelmed, distracted, and anxious about many things. Lord, You see the burdens we carry, the responsibilities we juggle, and the worries that often consume our thoughts. But today, we hear Your gentle voice calling us back to what truly matters—Your presence.

"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary." (Luke 10:41-42)

Lord, help us to shift our focus from the urgent to the eternal, from striving to abiding, from self-sufficiency to full dependence on You. Teach us to sit at Your feet like Mary, choosing the good portion that will never be taken away. Remove the distractions and the burdens that pull us away from the stillness of Your love.

We repent for every moment we have been too busy to pray, too distracted to worship, too anxious to trust You. Forgive us for allowing the cares of this world to drown out the whisper of Your Spirit. Today, we surrender. We lay down our worries and exchange them for Your peace, Your presence, and Your rest.

"Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus, we come. We choose rest. We choose worship. We choose to sit with You. Just as You gently corrected Martha in love, correct our hearts and realign us to seek You first. Let our hearts burn with love for You again. May we learn to find joy, purpose, and strength in simply being with You.

Lord, I pray for everyone struggling with stress, anxiety, and exhaustion—may they find their refreshing in You. For those who feel burdened by responsibilities, let them know You are their strength. And for those seeking purpose, remind them that You are the goal, the prize, and the true portion of our lives.

Thank You, Jesus, for calling us deeper. We respond today. We choose the one thing necessary—You.
