When the Titanic struck the iceberg in 1912, the Wallace Hartley band was called upon to play in order to allay panic and to maintain an atmosphere of calm. In the final chaos, as the last lifeboats drifted away, someone fancied they heard the hymn ‘Nearer My God To Thee’. 

Wallace Hartley, leading the eight-member band as the ship sank on 15 April 1912. Neither he nor the rest of the band survived the sinking.

If the problem is we don't know how to talk to each other about the end of our lives perhaps hearing in graphic detail the death stories of 20+ people will toughen us up. But I don't know, am I ready now? When it comes time to speak out loud the impossible truth to the ones I love will I have the courage? Well, when it comes to me if anyone needs any clarity just know all I need is some good speakers and home. No hospitals, please.
