Inspired by a picnic gramophone and a box of old 10 inch Jazz records, The Gramophone Band performs music of a bygone era.

THey play the sweet dulcet tones and the toe tapping hits of the 1920's through to the 1950's. From Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Ragtime to Rock-a-Billy, the members share a passion for the music that their grandparents listened to. However, vintage renditions of Kylie Minogue, Bowie or Prince wouldn't be at all out of place in an evening with the Gramophone Band. It is fun, animated music that appeals to both the young and the old. 

The Gramophone Band brings you a magical evening of your vintage music, wonderful nonsense and beautiful tunes. They can perform either as a dinnertime duo or as a full band.

A New Jersey native, Othoniel goes by the artist name Justa Guy. His father was a bassist from the Palladium era of latin music so, music has been a part of his life since day one.  Justa Guy has been songwriting, producing for and collaborating with other artists. He produced and co-wrote on the project Anchor & Wings with the ISINA- awarded artist, Cris Gunther. He has produced several EDM tracks and remixes released on the label Lemongrass were also written and produced under the alias 7b. 
His latest album "The Faun"  is mostly mid-tempo pop with electronic elements.  The first single, "Break Away" is grounded by a Reggaeton beat but is very Pop forward.  Justa Guy enjoys experimenting and mixing different genres together  to create a sound of his own.  He says that writing pop for a baritone is challenging and it hasn't been done in a long time and this was one of the motives  to complete this project.  His aspiration is that "The Faun" adds  another texture to the pop music landscape.

I first started posting my music on Soundcloud in late 2012. 

I've found it to be a very inspiring and supportive community of music creators. 

I have also made friends with great people and collaborated with some really talented artists on here.

In October 2013 I had a stroke which took away my ability to both play guitar and properly sing so I have since been unable to polish these songs. My primary goal in submitting here is they were far enough along to tell the story of the emotion and power behind them.

Most importantly, I wished to get them on the net so they may be heard, hoping someone might hear something which would suit their band, do it properly and add a piece to their repertoire.

I did theater for a while back in the 70s and had the opportunity to star in "Jesus Christ Superstar" down in Tucson. We played to sellout crowds every night and it totally amazed me watching 9000 people all rise as one when I stepped to the stage for my curtain call. My review in the Tucson Daily Star read "Steve Davis plays his voice like a loving musician, wooing an audience with sweet wonder, a biting anguish and an almost wrenching madness at times". 

As my number one intention for these songs is simply to get them out to the public.  I have only these two CDs. 

The first is my solo CD recorded in the living room of my apartment on a 4–track cassette tape recorder or years earlier on a 2–track karaoke unit. The second is with my best friend Gene Letson, we called ourselves "The Friends Band". 

I have played live many times and Gene and I have done a few parties over the years. A lot of these recordings were of him and me in his living room rehearsing and I threw out just a little box type cassette tape recorder and told him it was for history's sake. Only a few times were we able to make it into his beautiful home recording studio which was his business, Sound Works Studios.
