170 - Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Venom: The Last Dance, Fall, The Devil Wears Prada och Warcraft

Flickin’ It with Matt and Will once again tortures ourselves with a Sony Spider-Man property. Venom: The Last Dance caps off what is easily the best property of the Sony Spider-Man universe, but that’s not saying much. Despite the wonderful banter and heartwarming relationship between Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom, the haphazard and lazy storytelling of the entire trilogy has left much to be desired. This movie, however, does give us something that we didn’t know we needed, the Venom Avengers, and it was easily the coolest part of the movie. Only one Sony property left to go! But we’re sure Kraven will also suck.

Eddie (Tom Hardy) and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

Ruthless People is a hilarious gem from the 80s that gets the bizness this round!  The last comedy directed jointly by the Airplane! guys, from a script by the guy who wrote Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and My Cousin Vinny, with one of the strongest casts you will ever have the pleasure of seeing perform, it should have become an instant classic.  So why did this one get so unceremoniously memory-holed?  Is it because, in spite of its tight script and screwball antics, that it happens to also be one of THE MOST 80’S MOVIES EVER MADE?  From the production design and costumes to the music that screams 1986, Ruthless People has been forever unable to escape the gravitational force of the Me Decade to languish in semi-obscurity.  Which is a damn shame, and we are here today to wrest it from the pit of Lost VHS Classics!
