Recorded live at Trainwreck Ineffable 20th July 2024. Big shout out to Hayden and Eddie for hosting the wonderful night that was Trainwreck "The Last One Until The Next". 

Acid Resist 2nd debut after what was quite a strange first performance for A\Void Vibration. Listened to Max's advice toned down the set a little more, tried to focus on creating nostalgic rhythms and grooves for my love of Acid and Trance music, and of course dancing.

It was an extraordinary night for live electronics in the Meanjin scene and revival of the upstairs loft in the newly imagined Absurda Gallery.

Train Wreck

This song takes a classic nursery rhyme and twists it into a raw, unapologetic narrative of betrayal, resilience, and revenge. The lyrics weave a vivid tale of frustration and anger simmering beneath the surface until it erupts into a force that cannot be stopped. It’s a journey from exploited patience to unstoppable fury, a warning to anyone who takes advantage of another’s kindness.

The song opens with a distorted nod to "I've Been Working on the Railroad," immediately cutting off the nostalgic innocence with a sharp, rebellious "CUT THAT SHIT." This sets the stage for the overarching theme: breaking away from exploitation and false pretenses. The first verse introduces the metaphor of a railroad—once a path of progress and collaboration, now a site of destruction and betrayal. The narrator reflects on how people have ridden on their hard work, leeching off their effort, and turning on them when the tracks falter.

In Chorus 1, the song builds tension as it describes the slow process of anger and pain accumulating over time. The imagery of boiling blood and rising steam symbolizes the relentless pressure of betrayal and mistreatment. The use of natural forces like volcanoes and magma intensifies the feeling of inevitable eruption, reinforcing the narrator's power and the unstoppable nature of their rage.

Verse 2 employs a stutter effect, both in its lyricism and pacing, to convey the raw emotion and psychological impact of betrayal. The fragmented repetition mirrors the mental toll of manipulation and deceit. Despite this, the narrator asserts their strength and refuses to be subdued, channeling their pain into an unrelenting drive to overcome those who wronged them. The fiery imagery of molten lava coursing through their veins returns, solidifying the connection between emotional turmoil and unyielding power.

The train, a metaphor for their strength and resilience, will continue moving forward, unimpeded by anyone.
