I stood in the doorway when it began — two voices circling each other like weather. Their words weren’t just sounds; they were collisions. Sparks cracked in the air, meanings missed, sentences split mid-flight. It was like watching thunder argue with glass — beautiful, violent, impossible to stop.

Every phrase ricocheted off the walls until the room itself seemed to pulse. Then, slowly, the rhythm shifted. The storm softened. Their voices, once weapons, began to find harmony — still fragile, but searching for understanding. What had been noise became something sacred: language learning to heal itself.

“Echoes in the Hall” is what I heard in that moment — two hearts rehearsing forgiveness through sound. A spoken-word duet caught between hurt and grace, until silence, at last, remembered how to breathe.

Jeanine M. Canty, PhD, is a visionary scholar whose groundbreaking work illuminates the profound connections between consciousness, thought, and our relationship with the natural world. Her teaching weaves together social justice, ecological wisdom, and transformation. As a professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and guest professor at both Pacifica Graduate Institute and Naropa University, Jeanine has developed and shared her deep understanding of how mind and spirit intersect with ecological healing. Her acclaimed Nautilus Book Award-winning work Returning the Self to Nature: Undoing Our Collective Narcissism and Healing Our Planet, demonstrates how spiritual alienation from the earth creates the narcissistic patterns plaguing our society and social landscape. Her integration of contemplative practice with rigorous scholarship—drawing from Buddhist philosophy and transformative learning—offers tools for expanding our worldviews to heal our inner landscapes and our planet. Within this introductory talk, her first event at The New School as Visiting Scholar, we dive into the dualities within the western human’s psyche in order to reclaim our ecological and transpersonal identities and to access pathways for healing.

This unique sound embodies both the ethereal and the visceral—where melodic beauty collides with the mechanical grind of a dystopian underworld.
With four full-length albums to date—Prophecy (2001), Suffering (2002), Azrael’s Childe (2023), and Leviathan Rising (2024)—Amorteus Nocturne has continuously evolved, crafting soundscapes that transport listeners to realms beyond comprehension. His work is both deeply atmospheric and intensely rhythmic, weaving together symphonic elements, electronic pulses, and metallic aggression into an immersive experience.

Lazriel Fontaine is a London-based composer and avant-garde sound designer whose music drifts between cinematic orchestration and experimental electronics. Born in Hannover, Germany, while his father was stationed abroad, Lazriel spent much of his later life moving across the world — a journey that shaped the diverse textures and emotional range of his work.
His compositions draw inspiration from artists such as Ludovico Einaudi, Two Steps from Hell, Dexter Britain, and the nostalgic pulse of 80s synthwave, blending them into pieces that are both hauntingly intimate and grandly expansive.
Fontaine’s music often explores the tension between structure and improvisation, weaving together influences from classical minimalism, film scoring, and modern sound design. Each piece feels like a landscape — shifting, atmospheric, and deeply tied to memory and movement.
Though eclectic in style, his work remains united by a search for resonance: music that lingers, unsettles, and uplifts.

Hey, I’m Parker: Sonic Director and Digital Maestro behind ParkTumn.
Music has been part of me for as long as I can remember. I grew up loving everything from R&B and rap to pop, indie, rock, and country. I’ve always believed music is therapy you can move to, vibe to, or escape into, and now I finally get to create it in my own way.

I use AI tools as part of my creative process, not to replace anything human, but to enhance it. Every idea starts with me: the concept, the emotion, the vision, the storytelling, the sound direction. The tech is just the paint; I’m the one choosing the colors and shaping the world. If you don’t know what a Sonic Director is, it’s simply someone who guides the entire musical experience: the vibe, the tone, the emotion, the structure, and the universe around the sound. That’s what I do here with every track.

ParkTumn is inspired by my favorite season, autumn, and my best buddy, my dog Autumn. My sound stays clean, cohesive, and elevated across genres. Whether it’s a pop R&B bop, a dreamy indie moment, or a futuristic rap infused vibe, I lean into harmonies, attitude, storytelling, and visuals that feel alive. I love creating songs that hit emotionally but still make you move.

Anbid Zaman is a queer activist and artist whose work rises from a life marked by displacement, resistance, and the insistence on living fully even when the world tries to deny that possibility. Born in Bangladesh and shaped by grassroots queer organizing from a young age, they grew into their voice through community struggle — learning early that courage isn’t an act, but a daily discipline.

Their journey from danger to refuge transformed them without erasing their origins. Living in Germany, Anbid continues to work at the intersections of identity, migration, and liberation, supporting queer people who face violence and navigating the complexities of chosen family, safety, and belonging. Their activism is guided by deep commitments: justice without compromise, solidarity across borders, and an unshakeable belief that marginalised voices should be heard not with pity, but with respect.

These values spill directly into their music. Anbid’s sound blends testimonial storytelling, emotional minimalism, and atmospheric layers shaped by memory — the quiet of hiding, the noise of protest, the ache of leaving, the thrill of surviving. Each track carries the weight of lived experience and the brightness of hope that refuses to die. Their art is not just expression; it is continuation, resistance, and a reminder that stories carry power long before the world acknowledges them.
