The Birth of Oshun appears familiar because the artist cloaks the painting in classical mythology and Renaissance artistic motifs. Modeled after Sandro Botticelli’s fifteenth-century panel Birth of Venus, 

Rosales’s version supplants her Roman counterpart. Critiquing Eurocentric ideals of beauty, the painting makes space for Black female empowerment and beauty of all types.

Let me tell you how this set slowed down time for me as DJ. The backstory of how I even got to play at this set at Cirque Du Sol Camp is pretty amazing. A week before Sideburn festival, I was visiting a friends cottage when we got the call that some nearby burners need help and of course my friends and I ended up on this beautiful farm and helped Cirque Du Sol camp load their trailer headed for Sideburn. Made some amazing connections with the organizers who were also female DJs and they gave me this amazing opportunity to play the closing set on Saturday night of this festival at their camp Cirque Du Sol. Half an hour before my set, I tried walking in the Cirque tent and it was completely packed full of people, to the point where you can barely breathe type of packed... and it was the most overwhelmed I've ever felt before a DJ set. But as soon as I got on the decks, time just kind of slowed down and flowed so beautifully and this felt more like a musical transmutation then a DJ set.... so much love to everyone that danced with me and got down to these beats.

SKULL EATER

“The Evil Inside” is a ritual of inner transmutation. It begins in silence, where a hopeful arpeggio and a confessional voice expose the raw truth within: “there’s something inside me I need to heal.” From that vulnerable spark, the rhythm in B♭ minor awakens—a pulse at 160 BPM that beats like a heart learning to forgive itself.

The first section holds to the shadows, building tension through subtle motion and the steady breath of bass and atmosphere. Then, as the harmonies unfold the energy turns luminous, as if the darkness itself is melting into gold. Each progression feels like a step deeper into self-acceptance, where the evil ceases to be a curse and becomes a sacred force.

Neither violent nor soft, “The Evil Inside” exists in the threshold between twilight and dawn—a sonic purification that transforms inner chaos into radiant balance.

Petits lézards lézardant au travers des lézardes du temps. 
Petits lézards apparaissant, petit lézards disparaissant.
Petits lézards échappant à la notion d'espace et de temps...

Puisque les lézards ont cette faculté magnifique de se détacher de leurs queues lorsque celles-ci sont prises au piège, comme eux, nous nous faufilons, laissant nos peaux mortes se faire broyer sans nous par la pression du système qui nous attrape par le bout de la queue. 
Nous cessons de courir d'une obligation à l'autre pour nous faufiler dans ces lézardes cosmiques.

En contemplant les lézards lézarder comme moi au soleil aujourd'hui je suis parcourue de frissons. 
Chair de poule qui me rappelle qu'avant d'être une lézarde sans queue j'ai été une poule sans tête.
Enveloppe vide et déshabitée de moi-même,
Peau morte désertée d'âme, j'ai couru encore longtemps avant de m'effondrer.

En quête de sens et d'essence, entre paysages intérieurs et extérieurs, là où le dehors et le dedans se mélangent, nous déployons le tapis rouge du temps pour vous emmener à travers les lézardes cosmiques, au coeur de nos transmutations alchimiques. 
Une exploration sensorielle du son un peu de bric et de broc mais en accordage avec ce qui se vit pour faire vibrer ce qui ne se dit pas toujours avec des mots.
