This is our new instrumental track WILD CASINO BLUES. Written, played and recorded on January 2nd 2025 live at studio 43.
This is a boogie-woogie, jazz and blues inspired instrumental that conveys a rawness through its session character and through its spontaneity and improvisational joy that is completely in the tradition of Chicago jazz and blues of the early 20s of the last century. Back then, people played into gramophone funnels and recorded the moment. This creates a directness that is also intended and desired in the production of this track - authentic and honest.

The debut album of rising star jazz vocalist Chris Murray, CLASSICS exemplifies the sheer versatility of his performance capabilities through a wide variety of modernized arrangements of classic standards of different styles of jazz ranging from blues to gospel to latin to smoky to pop. Backed by his band, Soul Frequency, the album also features a spotlight on woodwind multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Gabe Preston on every track of the album (except for the last), and plays a significant role in the structure of the arrangements through melodic approach. This album aims to have something for everyone no matter what the jazz background may be, and sets the foreground for future performances of the dynamic lead vocalist to come.

Tom Bones Malone is one of the world’s most recognizable horn players and one of a precious few who can play a wide array of both brass and woodwind instruments. He appeared in the Blues Brothers movie as a member of the Blues Brothers Band and was seen on TV as a member of the house bands for Saturday Night Live Band and Late Night with David Letterman. He toured and recorded with The Band and Levon Helm and is featured in The Last Waltz movie. He also recorded and performed with a who’s who of world class performers including Blood Sweat & Tears, Frank Zappa, Gil Evans, Miles Davis and Tina Turner, just to name a few. The Crazy Chester Radio Hour is created and hosted by record producer and songwriter Andreas Werner. This episode was recorded at Tom Bones Malone’s house in Los Angeles.
