From Stillness

Cystinosis was quickly composed in 2010 for Andrew Araki's senior trombone recital. The structure of this piece is sort of an imperfect large-scale 3:4 rhythm. The electronic accompaniment is 32 bars in length divided evenly into quarters. The first two bars act as a cue for the trombonist who enters in bar 3. The 30-bar trombone part is divided exactly into thirds, and alternates between hexatonic and heptatonic scales.
This recording is from Andrew's live performance (4/9/10), but includes an additional electronic track mixed in for balance.

Praxis Axis is the electronical alter ego of Thomas Green, a composer from Brisbane.  Tom writes music of many different varieties, but presently is hoping to put out an album for Praxis Axis, featuring what he likes to call "Adventure Music," or music evoking fantasy and science fiction imagery.  His sound is sometimes serious and often funny, but hopefully always is his own.

Brett Copeland is a performer and composer of acoustic and electro-acoustic music. He maintains a freelance career as a performer, composer, and educator of tuba and music technology. He is currently based in Rochester, NY.

I am a composer and percussionist who enjoys conducting and mixing performances of my own works. I was born in 1988 in Savannah, Georgia, and currently live in Yorktown, Indiana. In addition to classical music for instruments and for electronic media, I compose metal, rock, and hip-hop, though I still try to approach this music using intellectual and/or experimental compositional techniques. I am also interested in further expanding the styles, genres, and compositional techniques that I incorporate. I received my Bachelor's Degree of Music from Ball State University, where I was rewarded the “Excellence in Music Composition” scholarship several times. I have also been certified in Advanced-level Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages through the American TESOL Institute, and taught English at Beijing Royal School in 2009.
