The Wiener Philharmoniker Fanfare, Op. AV 109, also known as the Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare is a work for brass instruments written by Richard Strauss.
The Fanfare, written for the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra, was premiered on March 4, 1924 at a benefit ball to mark their 40th anniversary and to raise money for the orchestra's pension fund. (Wikipedia)

In 1920 Ralph Vaughan Williams composed three preludes for organ based on Welsh hymn tunes, a set that quickly established itself in the organ repertoire. Of the three, Rhosymedre, sometimes known as “Lovely,” has become the most popular. The hymn tune used in this prelude was written by a 19th century Welsh composer, J.D. Edwards, and is a very simple melody made up almost entirely of scale tones and upbeat skips of a fourth. Yet, around this modest tune Vaughan Williams has constructed a piece of grand proportions, with a broad arc that soars with the gradual rise of the tune itself.   (Walter Beeler)
This gorgeous 4 minute long setting of Rhosymedre for Trombone Choir arranged by Russell McKinney is very approachable by most trombone ensembles with all 10 parts in bass clef and presents no technical or endurance issues. Instrumentation is for 7 tenors and 3 bass trombones.

Gabriel Fauré finished composing his Requiem, Op. 48 in 1890. Not a religious person himself, his music is based on "a very human feeling of faith and eternal rest". The overriding feelings when listening to this glorious work are: peace, contentment, beauty and eternity.
Ed Hayes and Frank Harmantas have beautifully arranged the Agnus Dei movement. It is about 5 minutes in length for 6-part Trombone Ensemble of advanced level performers.

Rusalka by Antonin Dvorak is his 9th opera composed in 1900. It is a fairytale composed with joy from the heart and is considered the "Queen" of his operas. White Petals Along the Road is a lovely 3-minute chorus from Act II in the style of a processional.

Marc Williams has faithfully arranged this beautiful work for a 10-part Trombone Choir featuring two performers.

The Creation by Franz Joseph Haydn was first premiered in Vienna in 1798 and quickly became famous across Europe. The Overture, nicknamed "The Representation of Chaos" is a 6-minute work of genius where Haydn paints the dark, frightening void just prior to creation by using snippets of melody, vague rhythms, strange harmonies, awkward dissonances and sudden outbursts (Toronto Mendelssohn Choir notes).
Randall Malmstrom's excellent arrangement of this work for 8-part Trombone Ensemble is scored for alto, 5 tenors, bass and contrabass trombones and is appropriate for advanced performers.

Haydn Overture to The Creation for Trombone Ensemble

Chorus of the Infernal Spirits by Claudio Monteverdi has been brilliantly arranged for 8-part Trombone Ensemble by Marc Williams. The music from the 1607 masterpiece L'Orfeo is taken from Act III when Orpheus makes his entrance into Hades and is praised by the Chorus for his audacity to search for his love Euridice who has died in the previous Act.
The music is about 3 1/2 minutes in length for moderately advanced performers.

La Péri is a ballet in one act by Paul Dukas, written in 1912 and first performed in Paris. The Fanfare was originally scored for orchestral brass ensemble, however this great arrangement for 8-part Trombone Ensemble by Randall Malmstrom is spectacular sounding.
For advanced performers, the work is about 2 minutes in length.
Instrumentation is for alto trombone, 5 tenor trombones, bass trombone and contrabass trombone.

Dukas - Fanfare from La Peri for Trombone Ensemble

Ross Holcombe has beautifully arranged the&nbsp;Six Lieder, Op. 7 by Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn for 8-part Trombone Ensemble. Here is what the arranger has said about the music and his arrangement.

Each of these lieder are arranged with two trombone parts playing the vocal melody in unison and six other parts playing the piano accompaniment. Any of these lieder may be played as a trombone octet with one player per part or a trombone choir with multiple players per part. As a third option, these lieder may be played by a soloist with trombone sextet or choir accompaniment, omitting the other part which also contains the melody.

Each movement features 2 of the 6 tenor parts with the melody line. The music is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and totals about 10-12 minutes in length.
