At long last, we present "Something Good," our second single as Honey Disposition! Elizabeth began writing this song all the way back in 2020 in Seattle just before the start of the pandemic. We have spent the years since fleshing out the song, developing the arrangement, and producing the track to be what it is today. The song pleads for something, anything good. With all the chaos that has ensued in the world since the initial conception of this song, its message rings more true now than ever before. Jazz is everything to me. Whether it’s Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, or Miles Davis, it always takes me somewhere else, into another universe.

For this beat, I knew I wanted to start with a piano sample—something rich, something that could set the tone. Then came the drums, heavy and driving, pushing the rhythm forward. The tempo is a bit faster than what I’ve shared before, but I love it like this. I wanted to bring some variation, so I layered in an Asian instrument, because I’ve always been drawn to those textures and melodies.

When I listened back, something still felt like it was missing. That’s when I played it for my brother Bo. The moment he heard it, he said, ‘You need a trumpet on this.’ And he was right. So I went digging for the perfect trumpet riff and found a solo that had that Miles Davis touch—smooth but full of attitude. Once I chopped it up and laid it down, everything clicked.

After some sequencing, mixing, and mastering, the beat was finally ready. The whole process was both fun and challenging, but every step felt right. Hope y’all enjoy this one.

Chroma is a composer in the well-known 'Breakcore' genre, born in Costa Rica, who has been creating tracks since the age of 11. He started by experimenting with songs like those from Friday Night Funkin’ and currently has his biggest hit with the track '1 - 8 hour flight' which now has lots of plays. He is releasing his songs on Spotify! -Chroma :3

Passionate about hip-hop in all its forms, my heart beats for the golden era in the US, the late 90s/early 2000s French scene (with legends like DJ Mehdi), and of course, Japanese hip-hop, which has had a huge artistic influence on me. Hydeout Productions, Takuya Kuroda, DJ Mitsu The Beats, Nomak, Nitsua… and many more shape my musical world.

I started as a deep listener, then moved into DJing and mixing, and now, I’m creating my own beats. No matter the evolution, the passion remains the same.

I also founded Ofa Music Group, a collective/label to honoring a specific era and musical aesthetic—where jazz and hip-hop blend seamlessly, where organic sounds meet lofi textures to create timeless atmospheres.

Started out as a drummer shortly after the last ice age. 

With the advent of electricity, I grew sick of being the guy who hung around with the real musicians, so decided to teach myself to write songs. 

Years later, and studio hours too numerous to mention, I've reached the point where I don't suck at it.

I do what I can with the engineering side, but due to some industrial deafness, there's bound to be things I miss. 4kHz? What the fuck is 4kHz? Ohhhh, right....that's the area that's buried in all that tinnitus!

This is the point where most bios will pad the writer's ego, inflating self importance...which I hate, but I'm human, so here's just a bit. Spent years playing sessions, mostly for bands you've never heard of but also for a heap of adverts you probably have. Learned lots of studio craft from some very talented people. Studied production with a Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer for seven years. 

And none of it means a hill of beans in respect to the following question: is the music good? If you think so, then little else really matters, does it?

I have three studio assistants. All are feline, and none of them like asparagus.
