Miniature Mystique #2

This is the credits theme taken from an animation feature film Frank the Lobster for which I did score for recently. It features dual soprano saxes &  tubax performed by me, with little help from my friends in the form of cello (Tuukka Helminen) and drums & percussion (Samuli Kosminen). Except to see this in animation festivals in the near future as well as Finnish TV channels.

Stakula is a Finnish composer, sound designer and woodwind player. He does music and sound work for mainly games industry, but also for film, TV and theatre productions. Stakula is the founder, leader, main composer and woodwind player of Finnish world music ensemble Alamaailman Vasarat with a 16-year history of five albums, live DVD and appraised performances throughout the world including Scandinavia, Central Europe, Americas and Japan.

Luc Houtkamp is a composer who bridges the gap between different worlds of music. Having a background in jazz & improvised music as a saxophone player, his musical goal is to establish a continuum between improvisation and composition in which the difference between the two dissolves.



Active since 2007 Tubax are a veritable dirty-electro experiment of prog and funk, a wise mix of technique and raw dancefloor danceability.
Armed with drums, bass and synth, the bolognese trio gives life to a breath-taking live set, where the rhythmic frenzy and melody's hypnotic intertwining seem to be drawn from a psycho, surreal, metropolitan imaginary, reminding of a space action videogame soundtrack or a visionary background for a cyberpunk comic.
