Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn) - Rusty Ruin Zone Act 1+2

This was a fun arrangement to do. I grew up playing the Saturn version first. I always loved the jazz inspired soundtrack from Richard Jacques. Wanted to do my own twist on it and I'm very happy with how it turned out. For fun, I added the main theme for Sonic 3D Blast. Fits really well!

Metroid Prime - Phendrana Drifts

Who doesn't love Metroid Prime? I remember getting the game as a Christmas gift back in 2002. Amazing game that still holds up even today. The music, in particular, has always been a highlight for me. Hearing the music when exploring Phendrana Drifts in-game was quite an experience and a definite highlight. I always wanted to do my own arrangement of this. Decided to take a different approach with this one.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I always wanted to do an arrangement of Fi's theme. I did incorporate this theme as part of a Zelda suite I arranged and orchestrated back a couple of years ago, but wanted to expand on it. This is also my first time writing in the Lo-Fi Hip Hop genre which I love listening to whenever I want to relax. I took my love of writing for the orchestra and combined it with Lo-Fi producing techniques. This is the result of the combo. All the music and sounds were written by me. I only sampled sound bites of Fi from the game to incorporate in the music. I should also point out...Lo-"Fi"....Fi's Theme. Makes sense.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Fi's Theme

Original music inspired by the comic book I KILL GIANTS. 

I wrote this piece some time ago after reading the comic book I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly. I feel this is more fitting for an animated film of the comic book. This piece is broken down into 2 sections. I wrote each part with specific moods/scenes of the comic book in mind. Instead of me describing my thought process, I'd rather not say anything and just let you figure it out and enjoy it for what it is. 

Had I seen the movie first, the music might have turned out differently. Nonetheless, I'm really happy with how this one turned out and hope you enjoy it!

This is my first official anime arrangement! Big fan of the Tokyo Ghoul series (manga and anime). After hearing the music in episode 2 of season 2, I knew this had to be the first arrangement to tackle. And of course, I had to put a different spin on it. What started out as a simple guitar outline, this blossomed into this final version all thanks to my collaborators. This arrangement was done before the official version came out so the lyrics are not 100% accurate. Nonetheless, I'm happy with how it turned out!

I used to play in bands years ago. One of them was with Window Smiles. Remixing other songs is not something I typically do, but since the band members are also my best friends, I wanted to give this song they wrote a spin. The song was already super chill. I just wanted to give it that Lo-Fi touch since the track was recorded pretty raw.  I also took audio clips I had recorded years ago of all of us and added it into the track; something that I was inspired to do by a track from another video game (NiGHTS into Dreams - Gate of Your Dreams)! 

It feels like we're collaborating again in some way. Feels good.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

What's there to say about this? I grew up playing Ocarina of Time and all of the music is essentially wired into my brain. I've heard quite a few arrangements of this particular track throughout the years. Not surprised by the number of arrangements/covers out there for this. It such a catchy melody and always fun to play in-game. I wanted to avoid doing this one as I wasn't sure what I can do differently. As with most of my arrangements, I was jamming on the keys and I just happen to play the right chords at the right time. It just clicked. I went at it and before you know it the whole structure is laid out. Really happy with how this one turned out. I hope you all find enjoyment out of it!

HOUNDTRACK x Tune In With Chewie - Always Been

Welcome! Tune in with Chewie to listen to awesome arrangements of video game tunes and anime. I'll also be sharing original music. 

Real name is Nestor and I'm a film composer. Chewie is a nickname I've had for many years. This is a passion project and will be uploading new arrangements whenever possible. You can find links to my own film score tracks below!

Nestor Estrada is an LA-based film composer. He's part of the Outlier Studios team: a film scoring house that works side by side with filmmakers to craft unique, immersive, visceral experiences. 

He also works at Output, Inc as a sound designer and helps develops innovative software instruments for musicians, composers, producers and sound designers across all genres.

Nestor received his Bachelors of Music at Cal State University, Northridge for Film Scoring.
