Starting the year strong with our first guest on the radio show of 2025. LL from Jakarta is here to take over the Batik Boy Radio airwaves. Expect fresh vibes, smooth beats, and a session you won’t forget. Tune in and feel the groove!

LL was introduced to music at a young age and has been exploring various genres based on his personal taste ever since. He began his career as a DJ in late 2018 and joined Hatchi as a resident in early 2019.

In 2020, LL co-founded Pasiih with his two mates, Jojo and Ajung, as a collective with the purpose of creating a movement to educate people about new sounds, including emerging R&B talents and other genres. LL also directs Pasiih's music selection and mixes.

In addition to his work with Pasiih, LL joined the Bebop Music Collective (BMC) as a DJ performer in late 2023. Currently, he is a resident at Bebop in Jakarta and regularly performs in other cities such as Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Bali.

Born and raised in Indonesia, BATIK BOY spend his teenage years in The Netherlands. Here, he immersed himself in the diverse and thriving music scene, inspiring him to explore the limitless possibilities of music. Since 2016 he is back in his home country Indonesia living on the island of Bali, where he decided to establish Batik Boy Radio, a unique platform that serves as a reflection of his broad musical palette.

Felipe Moya Alvarado, a young 26-year-old pianist, dj/producer born in San José, Costa Rica. When not performing, he spends his time in the studio creating his own music. Due to the great influence music has in his life, he learned to play the piano on his own and has been playing it for over a decade. 

DJing special events and promoting his own shows, Felipe has had a lot of time to develop his sound.  For him, it’s all about mood and a deep, hypnotic groove, playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date.  Don’t be surprised when you suddenly find yourself dancing.

NOORCOTICS:

NOOR: This part of the name is inspired by the Persian/Arabic name "Noor" (which is also my surname shortened) which means "light" or "brightness". It could also be interpreted as "noir" meaning "black" in French, which suggest a contrast or combination of light and dark elements.

COTICS: This suffix doesn't seem to have a direct meaning, but is a play on the word "narcotics”, which refers to drugs. It suggest something potent, addictive, or intoxicating in the context of music.

Combining these parts, NOORCOTICS can be interpreted as a juxtaposition of light and dark or as something bright and captivating with an edge or hint of intensity, similar to the effects of narcotics but in a musical context.
