2. Chaotic Times:  After recording the first movement (Hiding From the Law: Hiding and the Chase) in November 2024, I created a followup movement, in light of the recent presidential election and continued rise of oligarchy, climate chaos and xenophobia around the world.  While the first movement was conceived as a common cops and criminal chase, it could also be a criminal hiding in political office with plans for immunity thereby.  After some halting starts, sort of waiting to see just what will happen, about a minute and a half enter several 12 tone rows, inverted and reversed, rhythmically varied and sometimes broken into segments.  Many considered serial music as evil, as discordant (it is often dissonant to an ear trained to earlier European forms, folk, or popular music), but a bath of it could begin to seem more normal, especially a century after its invention. This chaos ends fragmented – is it species extinction, end of democracy, or fading of a nightmare?  Are the bird calls at the end a hope or omen.  There is no way of knowing.

Prof. Isaac Baley, Associate Professor of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Associated Researcher at CREI, and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics, shares key insights from his research, Can Global Uncertainty Promote International Trade?

Contrary to common belief, uncertainty can actually boost trade. In a general equilibrium trade model with information frictions, rising uncertainty increases both the mean and variance of export returns. Whether trade grows or shrinks depends on preferences, but under general conditions, higher uncertainty improves terms of trade, especially when consumption is most valuable. Trade also enhances risk-sharing, which is most effective when both parties lack information.

Prof. Baley is also a Research Affiliate of Centre for Economic Policy Research. His research focuses on understanding decision-making in environments with microeconomic frictions (for example, information frictions, search frictions, irreversibilities, and adjustment costs) and its broader macroeconomic implications. His work explores diverse areas, including firms' pricing and investment strategies, monetary policy, international trade, and labor markets. He co-authored the book "The Data Economy"  published this year by Princeton University Press and jointly written with Prof. Laura Veldkamp (who was featured in Business Talk, Episode 76).

Before transitioning to academia, Prof. Baley served as an economic advisor to the Mexican Ministries of Economics and Finance, where he played a key role in developing policies aimed at improving access to financial markets. Prof. Isaac Baley earned his PhD in Economics from New York University and a Master’s in Economic Theory from The Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico.

We support all independent musicians who are doing something we find interesting. Our team members all have formal music education qualifications.

We are against corporate brainwash muzak, their puppet friends in the mass media, and many other corporate activities. We will fight their desecration of music until either it stops or we die. 

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.

We're politically liberal. We cannot support the republicans, maga or gun violence in the usa. We don't see there's any real difference, other than in name, between the christian far right in the USA and the taliban in Afghanistan.

In the uk we are broadly pro LibDem/Green/Labour/SNP. We are VERY anti-tory, bnp, ukip, and any of their friends and associates. We have no trust at all in the uk right wing press monopoly and the bbc. Beware the bbc and its claims of neutrality. It is the propaganda mouthpiece of the tory party. It even charges a propaganda tax called the licence fee. But we like Test Match Special and Radio 6, so does that make us hypocrites...? Hmm.

We support independence for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. We support the individual and the underdog. We are anti-putin and his war, and pro-Ukraine.

Born and raised on the Florida Gulf Coast, Anthony found his passion for music at a very early age. He spent his childhood attending piano lessons and concert recitals, shortly after jumped into a variety of  instruments: the recorder, drums, guitar, and DJ-ing.

His passion for the arts grew deeper when he was introduced to all the tools and gadgets in the recording studio. Anthony studied his craft at Full Sail University and graduated with his associates degree in audio engineering and recording arts in 2006.

After Full Sail, he took a leap of faith and accepted a gig in Chicago to work at R.Kelly owned recording studio, The Chocolate Factory. There, he learned from the best engineers and producers in the industry. He went on tour, worked on sets and in the studio with artists like Rick Ross, Ludacris, Kid Rock, Pussy Cat Dolls, Whitney Houston and more.

In 2010, he felt the calling to start his own business and moved to Atlanta, where he co-founded a recording studio called Back Pack Music Group. In ATL, he expanded his knowledge in the music industry by diving into the trap and rap scene. Honing his craft in mixing and mastering to higher levels while helping artists like Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters sculpt their signature sounds.

After years of working independently – he came back home to Pensacola, FL and established Modus Flow in 2017 to make his mark in the music industry.

When he’s not in the studio, Anthony loves to travel and explore new cities, eat fine cuisine, read books on philosophy, skate, surf, and snowboard.

Anthony is a maven of the recording arts with a keen instinct for getting the job done professionally AND making the customer happy, no matter what it takes. He loves helping artists bring their vision to life and adds deep passion to every project he touches.
