Some Beee-bop! This is sort of a composite treatment of Wardell Gray’s original arrangement, with a bit of Annie Ross and Joni Mitchell thrown in for good measure. (Tee-hee…”measure” …I made a musical joke there.)

Originally released by Wardell Gray in 1949, and then done as “vocalese” by Annie Ross in 1952.

Me on upright bass.

Here's a new song that seemed to be knocking around in my brain for the last two weeks.  I started out using the psaltery, but it just didn't work.  When I sat down with the dulcimer this past weekend it finally came out.  It is in the key of Em.  On the dulcimer, it is capo 1 and requires a 1.5 fret to have that C note.  I'll be working on getting it tabbed out when I can get together with my buddy Rudy Ryan.

Hi. Welcome to my Soundcloud page. I hope you enjoy my content. If you are in need of a bassist and like what you hear, please contact me for availability and rates. You can reach me via text at 410-490-5199. I've performed hundreds of songs and can generally learn 3 sets of material in two weeks. I can be ready for a gig sooner if you pull from tunes I already know. I strive to handle myself professionally at all times and pride myself in being flexible and accommodating with everyone I work with.

I've spent the Summer and Fall of 2021 performing Blues, Swing, Boogie Woogie, Roots Rock, Jazz, Funk, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Surf Rock, and Country in the Baltimore area in a duo, trio, and quartet.

I started playing double bass in 1992 and soon transitioned to playing electric. While still in high school, I found myself playing in wedding bands and later in clubs and bars of NYC and Long Island. I've spent about a year as a Sound Engineer's assistant. Upon moving to Maryland, I've continued to play music in bars, restaurants, and festivals. Looking forward, I am intent on playing more jazz, more double bass, and more private events.

I've taken private and group lessons in a jazz conservatory in my teens and have recently successfully completed the Ear Training 1 course with Berklee online. I plan on continuing my university studies in January of 2023.
