It is estimated that in the summer of 2022 more than 60,000 people died from extreme heat in Europe. The growth of urban sprawl, the materiality of the urban fabric and the absence of vegetation cover increase the problem of extreme heat in cities by concentrating it in so-called heat islands. In this episode we present how this problem is being tackled with the use of digital tools, citizen participation, vegetation cover prototypes and institutional arrangements.
