Hey everyone,

It’s me again. I’m sipping coffee and staring at this Mac’s calendar, suddenly realising it’s already been more than 4 months since the release of “Adamant”. I think thank-yous are way overdue so I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge everyone involved in the project as these have been a really amazing four months.

Enough nonsense and let’s back to business, or the purpose of this text: I (drumroll) proudly present the final 5 re-interpretations from some talented friends.

It’s an honour for me to have Francesco’s techno, David’s modular madness, Jake’s synthwork and Martin’s melodies all in one package, but being both fan and friend of everyone on board I’d be blatantly biased in describing this record’s contents.

So, since it’s 2014, why don’t we switch banalities, skip the “description" and “let the music do the talking” (ugh, did I really just write that?)

Recorded on 02.04.2025 in Eindhoven, this set is the debut of PLXS Soundsystem, including tracks from Vakant Records, Puls Romania, and Tzinah Records from the shared PLXS library.

PLXS is a concept that promotes collaborations between artists, eventplanners, producers, and sound lovers in local and international scenes focusing on creating experiences that promote pure sound quality and proffesional audio. We believe that lately there is too much competition in music and less collaboration, and it is important to go back to the essence of it, which is bringing people together to form genuine connections.

​Romanian duo Livio & Roby supply their standout track ‘Tidal Reshape’ to Vakant’s ‘Tenacity’ compilation.

Showcasing the somewhat minimal, yet driving sound that’s been coming strong out of their native country’s underground scene, Livio & Roby fire off a mesmerizing display of rhythm and sophistication.

Ahead of the compilation’s release, Livio & Roby touched on what inspires them in the studio: “We find influence and inspiration in many forms, sometimes it can be the consequence of a freshly read book, a new movie or classical/jazz concert, new experiences, our friends and family also inspire us in many ways… One time we moved our studio gear to a mountainside in Romania and we started to create. We find sometimes it's necessary to move from your main space to have some fresh air and ideas. That's how we made ‘Tidal Reshape’”.

Composed of ten tracks, the ‘Tenacity’ compilation also features music from Alex Smoke, Sons Of Tiki, Anonym, Tolga Fidan, Nico Purman and Non-Operational People.

The ‘Tenacity’​ compilation is released on April 3.

In the darkest basement the cries echoed cheerfully in the black. As she wandered steadily forwards she began to hear the sound of drums and caught a glimpse of the frantic faces which hustled past her in the hallway. The lights began to flash and the music filled the little space. She had been warned about people like this, the dancers amidst the midnight hour. The love, enthusiasm and hectic disorientation had left her excited and wanting more. 

Avatism delivers a hard hitting EP on Vakant as he draws upon distant soundscapes and the hammer of drums.

The press release for @avatism's new four-track EP 'Ate-Up' on @vakant bemoans the labelling of his work as "deep/tech-house", announcing the producer is back "mildly angrier than ever before" to shake off those tags.

To aid this pursuit,  @aquarian and @deapmash's AQXDM project has been enlisted to turn in a searingly hot remix on the flip. Bassy, breaksy, banging.

Hello everyone, my name is Valentin and I am a DJ, producer and sound engineer living in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Born and raised in Timisoara, Romania, I have been making music for the past 10 years in many different formats and genres. The thing that got me into music was playing guitar, and being part of a Thrash Metal band with my friends. Later on I started investing in studio equipment and making hip hop and rap beats, eventually ending up taking a engineering course for a year and focusing on recording, mixing and mastering. Now, I took advantage of my extensive music library and for the past year I have been focusing more on playing music as a DJ. Right now I want to go back to my roots and DJ rominimal here in Netherlands, which is the genre i originally started with 4 years ago in my hometown. Other than that I have some previous events and sets where I mixed afrobeats, amapiano, dacehall, bouyon, and baile funk.
