Now in a digital age where most people don’t look passed their favourite mp3 website for music you’ll still find Big Jacks going that extra mile to uncover the latest tune or forgotten gem in your local record store, thrift shop, or even a dusty warehouse basement all over the world. To Big Jacks there are no boundaries when it comes to finding and exposing new music to share.

It’s the mentality to dig deeper than just what the surface offers that Big Jacks carries with him as an outlook on life. While his humble beginnings were as a hip hop DJ using his lunch money to buy the newest albums, today no genre is overlooked when he creates his musical landscape. Every day brings a new opportunity to learn and expand on his craft. It’s because of this that he has been able to rise and become one a premier DJ locally and abroad, able to create that perfect vibe whatever the occasion. Whether it is getting the dance floor going or simply providing an atmospheric backdrop and soundtrack, he is able to tailor the sound to compliment any mood.

Big Jacks has made quite the name for himself in recent years as the official DJ for the popular women’s clothing store Aritzia. Currently, he works with the company to create a culture and an identity with its target audience. He curates and programs playlists for all their North American store locations, and his mixes and music have surpassed the million plays mark on Soundcloud alone. Big Jacks has found an effective and refreshing way to connect and influence their massive international customer base every day. His work has also been played heavily in other notable stores around the world like H&M, Forever 21, Top Shop, and many other cool boutiques and restaurants. All of which has led to him playing all over North America for those who love the work he creates.

He's made multiple appearances where he has played and been interviewed on one of the biggest radio shows in the world, Sway In The Morning, on XM Radio’s Shade 45 channel. How Sway? Because working smart pays off. The highly regarded program is one of the most popular outlets for the world’s top musicians, actors, athletes, etc to be spotlighted as it broadcasts globally to millions of listeners worldwide each day.

Most recently, Big Jacks has forged a new lane for himself as the co-founder  and operator of GGBR Records & Tapes along with his partner Bozack. The record label is a platform for them to release not only their own music in a tangible form (with a focus on vinyl and cassette tapes), but projects from other artists they truly believe in and stand behind, with a number of their releases already sold out to customers from North America, Europe and Asia.

Everything Big Jacks achieves and every hurdle that he overcomes is because he has stuck by doing what he loves to do while working smart and hard. He consistently demonstrates finely tuned technical skills in his work, with an attention to detail, but it’s his passion for music and life that shines through to connect him to his audience and create a fan base that truly trusts, respects and supports what he does.

Jay Tee is a West Coast rapper from the Bay Area who began his career in the early '90s as a member of the pioneering Chicano rap group N2Deep before founding the independent label 40 Ounce Records and embarking on a prolific solo career around the turn of the century. Born James Trujillo, he and fellow group member TL (born Timothy Lyon) made their commercial recording debut as N2Deep in 1990 with the Johnny Z-produced single "Work That Body," released on Rated Z Recordz. Based in Vallejo, CA, the group was subsequently signed to a recording contract with Profile Records and made its full-length album debut in 1992 with Back to the Hotel. Produced by close affiliate Johnny Z, the album's title track was a mainstream breakthrough hit, reaching number 14 on the Billboard singles chart, and remains a West Coast rap classic of the era. Unfortunately, successive efforts failed to rival the success of Back to the Hotel, though the group remained active throughout the remainder of the decade, releasing the albums 24-7-365 (1994), The Golden State (1997), The Rumble (1998), and Slightly Pimpish/Mostly Doggish (2000). In addition to N2Deep, Jay Tee was also a member of the Chicago rap supergroup Latino Velvet (also comprised of Baby Bash), which made its eponymous full-length album debut in 1997. As a solo artist, Jay Tee made his commercial debut in 2001 with The Knocks, a compilation spanning 1992-2000, and So Cold, a full-length studio effort of all-new material. Both albums, along with those that followed, were released on the independent label 40 Ounce Records, founded by Jay Tee. Successive albums include High Caliber (2002), A Cold Piece of Work (2004), The Thou$andaire (2005), He Got Game (2005), How the Game Go (2006), A.K.A. Jaime Trago (2008), Money In The Streets (2010) , The Game Is Cold (2013) and more.
