Another variation on ‘Happy Birthday to You’ — and another example of my being insufficiently dextrous to play my own piece! :-)

Greetings, Harry.

It was on your birthday last year that my composer friend Roland gave me the idea to try my own variations on Happy Birthday to You. I wanted something to play to you at the time, but writing and performing something in a day is a bit beyond me now, let alone then.

I’m not sure this piece is a perfect caricature, but the ending is very you — or at least the way you used to be: running off home without so much as a ‘by your leave’. :-)
