This was an attempt at making something more slow, enjoyable and relaxing. I had a lot of fun putting my silly spin on this track I love dearly!

I initially wrote this song to see if I could write about a subject matter I'm not really 
familiar with. I guess it could be considered songwriting practice because I usually try to dig pretty deep on my lyrics or at least on my own experiences. I don't actually know what it's like to revenge f*ck someone's girlfriend so if it were to happen, this is how I think it would go down haha. When we revisited this song to make "Ventifact", we really wanted to make sure that this album turned out different than just a bare-bones acoustic album like every other that you hear. Ryan (guitar) really took the reins on the writing process for the direction of this album to give these songs new identities. 
What made Traitor a bit of a challenge for him is that the song is originally very "riff-based". In the verses there's a guitar riff hook that repeats several times throughout the song as well as in the bridge. The main challenge with a lot of the album was translating that to sound good on an acoustic guitar. So instead of making "TRAITOR" riff heavy, he tried to emulate the synth line and took the bridge to a whole different direction with a latin feel. We had to create a new vocal melody as well for the bridge because it's driven by screams as a leading line. He got to play around with more complex chord voicings than were on the record originally which gives the song some latin and jazz undertones.

Founded in 2013, the name was inspired by the original lineup which featured members from France, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Connecticut who all met while attending L.A. Music Academy. The name also doubles as a goal to take the world over—one fan at a time. 

Comprised of guitarist Ryan Knecht, bassist Juan Arguello, drummer Alejandro Mercado and led by the dynamic frontwoman, Tiaday Ball, The World Over has created a buzz that has resonated throughout the rock/metal world since the release of their first EP, Rampart District, in 2014. The single, “Swervewolf,” racked up well over 100k YouTube views and made a lasting impact on fans and critics alike with over 1,000,000 views on their channel in total.  But, it was the release of Mountains (2017) that kicked down major doors for the band. The five-song EP was inspired by the lives of the band members. The title-track was inspired by a toxic friendship and the idea that sometimes in trying to save someone else, you can lose yourself. The popular video debuted on Tattoo.com and numerous popular rock fanzines. The success of Mountains has stretched past touring with Escape the Fate in the UK and Europe, Otep for two tours  across the U.S. and even earned The World Over a spot on the very last Vans Warped Tour in 2018 rocking out for 7 shows alongside bands like Simple Plan, The Used, Chelsea Grin and 3oh3!. 

Earning the respect of their fellow musicians has been a career highlight for The World Over. The band has been featured on Alternative Press more than a half-dozen times, and named Tiaday as one of the 100 of the Top Females in Music. 

Poised to release their highly anticipated first full-length album, The World Over isn’t showing any sign of slowing down. The new single, “Rewind/Replay” finds the band experimenting with new sounds and songwriting techniques while holding on to their hardcore rock roots.
