With moody lyrics and hypnotic repetition, the song reflects the struggle of running from one's own thoughts and the challenge of staying afloat amidst overwhelming feelings. A raw portrayal of the mental health battles many veterans face, offering a poignant connection for those who understand the weight of trauma.

This track began as a remembrance poem I wrote many years ago but wasn’t ever finished until recently, with the emphasis on a wish for a peaceful world.
I hope my words and gentle music will provide a moment to pause and reflect on humanity and history.

The song portrays the feelings of isolation, the yearning for connection, and the silent battles faced by many veterans. It’s a raw, introspective piece for anyone who understands the complexities of mental health and the struggle to rebuild relationships after trauma.

Helen Mills and Lisa Malmanger, co-leads of the SWE Military and Veterans Affinity Group, share personal stories on why building community is essential for military-connected engineers and their families in this episode of Diverse.
