Le premier souvenir musical de Melvin Pot remonte à la découverte de « One More Time » des Daft Punk sur MTV, alors qu’il est âgé de 4 ans.

Son parcours musical amorcé, il grandit entre cartoon network, spyro le dragon et les funky cops. 

Il découvre à 8 ans les disques de Hip Hop de sa mère, qui s’étendent de Dr Dre, à Tupac en passant par Cypress Hill et Onyx, et se passionne pour le sample, reconnaissant parfois certains morceaux de funk ou de soul.

Vient ensuite l’air de la musique illimitée, découvrant sur internet des discographies entières, il se passionne de plus en plus pour la création musicale, mais ce n’est qu’en 2014 qu’il commence la production. 

Aujourd’hui DJ et Producteur, Melvin Pot propose des sets mélangeant toutes ses influences, du Hip Hop, à la Bass Music en passant par le Jazz spirituel des coltranes ou la beat music de Flying Lotus.

Résident à Radio Active depuis 2022, il propose sa propre emission, « Le Melvin Pot » dans laquelle il déconstruit les samples et leur significations.

Il rejoint egalement le crew de DJ « Boundary Crossing » avec lequel il effectue régulièrement des B2B à 6 mains, aux côtés de Zu et Ubyk

Son concept album, « Orpheus » est attendu pour le courant de l’année 2024. Un album qui revisite le mythe d’Orphée et d’Eurydice, sur fond de Trap, de Techno, et de Kizumba sur du drone.

At the age of 8, he discovered his mother's Hip Hop records, which ranged from Dr Dre to Tupac via Cypress Hill and Onyx, and became passionate about sampling, sometimes recognizing certain pieces of funk or soul.

Then comes the era of unlimited music, discovering entire discographies on the internet, he became more and more passionate about musical creation, but it was only by 2014 that he began production.

As a DJ and Producer, Melvin Pot offers sets mixing all of his influences, from Hip Hop, to Bass Music, including the spiritual Jazz of the Coltranes or the beat music of Flying Lotus.

Resident at Radio Active since 2022, he offers his own show, “Le Melvin Pot” in which he deconstructs samples and their meanings.

He also joined the DJ crew “Boundary Crossing” with whom he regularly performs 6-handed B2Bs, alongside Zu and Ubyk

His concept album, “Orpheus” is expected sometime in 2024. An album that revisits the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, against a backdrop of Trap, Techno, and Kizumba on drone.
