I was in the mood for some harder stuff, and given it was only a 90 minute show because of the DST misalignment with the other side of the pond, I went all out with some vibes from Offkey, The Sect, Propaganda, etcetera! A non-compromising mix of hard technoid bangers. It was exactly what I needed and it felt great. Enjoy!

“Gonna name a new genre for this mix. AltSynthChugDisco...or maybe DeepPopHouseRaveRock (??)... Just don't call it Balearic, as we all know, that's a place, not a genre.

When I was asked by the Vinyl Underground crew to do a mix, I considered doing a specific genre deep dive. In the end, I thought it might be more fun to go off the reservation, and rather than pile down one straight line, I'd fling in some handbrake turns.

It mostly features bits I've bought from VU over the last year or so, with a couple of zingers from my vaults. There's definitely a lot of edits in there, but hopefully at the more obscure, more interesting end. 

I like how now the disco edit vault is almost running dry, producers are looking further afield at R&B, Pop, Rock, and electronica from all over the world. In this mix that means from Australia to Canada to Sweden. Labels like U-Bend, Manchester's Talking Drums/Drums Chums, and Melodies of Love.

For the orginals, I've turned to a bit of OG Italo House, a jawdropping bit of Jazz House from Brawther featuring the sax performance of a lifetime from Nathan Haines, a modern classic from Peven Everett, and the excellent Girls of The Internet on the faultless Athens Of The North. I'm so pleased they're now putting out new music on top of their famous reissues. 

The Mighty Zaf and Linkwood, Pete Blaker and Artwork are the current masters of the deep find disco edit, and here I feature some beauts. 

The challenge was turning all these leftfield cuts into a coherent mix. 

I guess you'll have to be the judge if I succeeded.

Originally from Amsterdam, and now based in Cambridge UK, Dr. Squee has been into DnB since before the turn of the century and DJing for more than two decades. Long time resident DJ on DnB radio Jungletrain.net, currently on a bi-weekly Tuesday evening schedule (21:00-23:00 UK time).

Based between Aachen and Cologne, Mario had his first Dj gigs around 2001 as artist Michael Förster.
From about 2003 - 2005 he was hosting the Eventseries "Promendenmischung" together with Sven Breitkopf @"New Water Club" (Ac).
As a Resident DJ, Michael hosted for over 3 years together with Dj slash the Afterhour @ "Locca" (Ac) on every sundaymornig.  
Later in the 2010's, Mario focused more on making music with friends somewhere outdoor in the nature, than playing in clubs and hustleling for gigs.
As time gone by,  the music changed. Marios favorite genre switched from Minimaltechno and Deephouse vibes to a more melodic Hardgroove type of music that he plays in his sets nowadays.
After Covid19, he became as Mario Moloko a resident for Ajourney Events @ the vamous odonien (cologne).
In 2025 he startet the Event "Dj Night @ kleiner Gürzenich (Eschweiler)" together with Totti P. in his hometown pub.
With his experience as an vinyl Dj  for about +25 years, his sets can be ajourney between the time and styles from the last 3 decades of electronic dance music.

Depending on my mood though my tastes can change, that is what is so great about music, it can change your emotions almost instantly. I myself mix and scratch records. I am in a lifelong quest to hear the most killer music always!

I dabble a little and am a bit more selective in many genres: such as the weirder experimental side of techno, illbient, dub, 80's new wave and no wave, freetekno especially classic Network 23 records, breakcore, some techstep, some Krautrock, ambient, 80's Industrial, some art rock and post rock, classic 70's and early 80's b-boy breaks and turntabilism.  However my main obsessive focus lies mainly into old school electro and underground futuristic new school electro (Morphology, ERP, Versalife, Kan3da, Plant 43, 214, Analogical Force, CPU, AS1, Umwelt, AC records, Microlith, Armec, Sound Synthesis, Biochip, Illektrolab , Info, Lake Haze and many more), underground acid house (JTC - The Dancing Box and Creep Acid, 808 State Newbuild are some of my favorites), razor blade edits, Moog records, perverted comedy records, Bleeps and Breaks, 90-92 Hardcore techno and early rave tracks, smooth and sleek Detroit Style techno, electronic sound effect and obscure spoken word records and electronic listening music from the beginning to now..

As has been said by many others before, "There are 2 types of music, good music and bad music".

I have about 100 of my own tracks to finish, some are already done, some just need some fine tuning. I am going to use this channel mainly for Dj Mixes with a few of my own tracks on here as well.  Eventually they will get on my BandCamp, or even better, hopefully I will get something released on vinyl.

1988 London UK - I started as a bedroom DJ and soon had a few gigs playing for mates, this turned into a few more gigs which turned into a full time 6 night a week DJ!  My preferred sound of Garage & House has been played in various countries around the world as well as playing in commercial clubs, pubs and rocking out at wedding's, birthdays and parties from London to my new home of Australia.  With 3 radio shows a week and numerous events across Australia I have the music, sound system and light show to fit into any event.
