It’s the end of January, which I affectionately refer to as “The Monday of the New Year.” Many people use New Year’s to set goals and intentions, but not everyone sticks to them. In fact, the second Friday in January is known as “Quitter’s Day.” It’s the time that 80% of people who set New Year's Resolutions give up on their newfound goals and intentions. So how do we keep our resolutions and actually create lasting change though? The process of transformation - more dramatic change that happens over time - is one that requires everyday action. 
 
I learned about Quitter’s Day from Dr. Deirdre Kelly, who I had the pleasure of interviewing right before the new year. Dr. Deirdre Kelly specializes in cognitive science and organizational design. She calls herself an “ever-learner” and works with individuals and organizations to create strategic and lasting change. 
 
Our conversation was full of exploration around curiosity, connection with others, and the celebration of the actions we take every day that leads us towards true transformation.

Erst die Stargate-Initiative aus den USA, dann der Hype um das chinesische Sprachmodell Deepseek. Das KI-Jahr 2025 ist furios gestartet. Auf diversen Ebenen wurde heftig über ein Kräftemessen zwischen der Tech-Weltmächten USA und China diskutiert. Goliath gegen David? Ressourcen- und Budget-Schlacht versus cleveren Entwicklern? Die Reaktionen der Börse mögen zwar nicht unbedingt fachlich unterfüttert gewesen sein, zeigen aber deutlich die Verunsicherung und geschwächtes Vertrauen in das bisherige Narrativ des "Größer ist besser". Und eins ist klar: Wir wissen viel zu wenig über die KI-Szene in China, jenseits von Gedanken an staatliche Steuerung.
