This track accompanies a video art performance that explores themes of transformation and rebirth. The music serves as the sonic foundation for a visual journey through metamorphosis, where the performer emerges from a formless cocoon along a path of pruned olive branches.
"Cryptid" represents the third piece in a video art cycle that began in 2012 with "K" and continued in 2017 with "Φ" - video-performances created by Panepuccia alongside Antonella Mignone under the artistic name APOTROPIA.

This track is a collaboration with my visual art friend, SaiMyo_K. The purpose of this was to accompany an animation that was akin to a "start menu" for his stream on Twitch.

Art Collective WA teams up with criticism platform Dispatch Review for a new artist interview series. 

Emerging arts writer Daniel Glover invites artist member Trevor Vickers and art historian Aimee Dodds for an open conversation about the Western Australian art sector. The panel will uncover insights into the good, the bad, and the ugly challenges artists face in 'the West'.

Trevor Vickers is a leading figure in Australian art, with a career spanning over 60 years. He has lived and worked in Perth, Melbourne and the UK. Since returning to Perth in 1995, he continues to explore minimal and geometric abstraction in his paintings, with works held in major national collections.

Aimee Dodds is a Perth based art historian and co-founder of Dispatch Review. She has written for Memo Review, Art Almanac, ArtsHub, and Artist Profile Magazine. Aimee has first class joint honours in the History of Art and English and Cultural Studies from the University of Western Australia.

Daniel Glover is an emerging arts writer and History of Art and Curatorial Studies graduate from the University of Western Australia.

Cristiano Panepuccia (Crystal Philtre, APOTROPIA) is a multimedia artist, composer, video artist, performer, filmmaker and comic artist. As co-founder of the duo APOTROPIA, his collaborative works have been exhibited at numerous international festivals and venues, including the Japan Media Arts Festival, Ars Electronica, ACM SIGGRAPH, WRO Media Art Biennale, MIT Museum, FILE – Electronic Language International Festival, and Festival Internacional de la Imagen.
