The track 'Two Voices' is the response to the visual score 'Two voices' by saxophonist and composer Patrick Shiroishi.

The series of visual scores titled 'Two voices' are etchings on steel plates developed from sketches, repetition of marks, and through memory of marks. Each score was given to a musician and exchanged for their recorded response.

Znajdująca się na fotografiach martwa natura jest wizualną partyturą utworu muzycznego. Każdy z widocznych obiektów stanowi reprezentację dźwięku w rozumieniu notacji muzycznej, niemniej poza faktem powołania dźwięku autor kompozycji nie ustanawia jaki on konkretnie jest, zatem czytający partyturę musi zinterpretować wizualne reprezentacje i przypisać im wartości nutowe tworząc przy tym kolejny poziom translacji z medium do medium.

First, I recorded the sound of a drum stick being dragged across the snare on a snare drum. I ran this through PaulStretch and matched the filter and binaural beats values to the numbers on my map portion. Second, I played, via midi, a minimal arp track where the colors on the map corresponded to notes. I then mangled this track via effects to make it more ethereal sounding. I then mashed them together and mixed them. Enjoy!

I am a multidisciplinary artist and musician who works through soundwalking, drawing, print and sound to record sonic experience of place. 

I founded The Visual Score Project at the end of 2021 as an opportunity to collaborate with fellow musicians through an exploration of mark making. The multiplicity of printmaking has enabled me to share my work as a visual score, to be exchanged for a sonic interpretation of the original soundwalk.

Based in London, I finished my MFA in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art in 2021 and exhibited as part of London Grads Now 2021 at Saatchi Gallery. In 2011 I formed the twice Mercury Award nominated band Savages and have since worked with various musicians including Adam Sherry and Sam Sherry.  I continue to work with Sam Sherry in duo form.
