As he laughs, he would describe his style as “gypsy house”. As historical trails of Romani people, his music travels through different continents blending various sounds and characteristics. From far east, through latino rhythms and finishing by the borders of deep Amazonian jungle. What brings this sounds together is a thrilling, energetic groove expressed with various electronic genres with melodic, tribal, afro and tech characteristics. Hard to define with words, easy to understand on the dance floor. Author of series of events “Teleport” & “Waking Dreams”, which with the patronage of Burning Man Foundation promoted the first polish art installation on Burning Man 2022. Dj podcasts to him are a way to leave behind club’s reality for a second, giving a chance to create something easy in form and approachable no matter the time and place.

STIMMULUS Podcast 23 - Aftersunday

Imagination has a valued place in psychotherapy. The images found in memories, relationship entanglements and future fantasies are the raw material of therapeutic work. And yet, faced with a significant dream or transference projection it can be difficult to resist the temptation of a clever interpretation. In this way, imagining is often eclipsed by thinking and the transformative potential of imaginative experience itself is neglected. 
 
This talk by Allan Frater will be of interest to therapists who want to work more holistically with images as images. Instead of treating images as symbols pointing to meaning elsewhere, the talk presents an image-centric approach, including: 
 
— A broad understanding of imagination as present in all perceptions, actions and relationships (not just as pictures ‘inside the mind’).

— A ‘waking dream’ method applicable to generic work with memories, the transference and future fantasies as well as art-therapy and active-imagination approaches.

— Imaginal dialogues. 

— A non-interpretative patterning which links image work in the consulting room to the on-going story of self and world in everyday life.
 
The result is an appreciation of imagination, not just as a means to rational insight but as an embodied imaginal sensibility at the heart of human potential and creativity.

Allan Frater is a psychotherapist and teacher with Psychosynthesis Trust. Inspired by Jack Kerouac and Herman Hesse, he spent his twenties living and working in Buddhist communities where he came across the east-meets-west fusion of transpersonal psychology, eventually training to become a psychotherapist. His psychotherapy practice and teaching career have intersected at the meeting place between transpersonal psychology and an image-based approach to ecotherapy, the results of which will be presented in this talk.

I AM BACK FROM MUDDDY MAN 2023 bigger, better, harder AND full of foreskin.  I am exhausted but I managed to finish editing the second part of my burn episodes from 2022. Basically these are the lost interviews I was never going to release because remembering the end of burning man was literally too tramatic to listen to, even the amazing parts which were many. So here it is in all it's sort of glory the good the bad the ugly. 

*editors note for end of episode : I was invited to be a panelist to talk about Burning Mans Impact on Culture...something like this by a friend I respect and love dearly that works for BORG and I showed up in a full police latex ripped up terminator outfit on acid after spending days talking to the hidden people who build the infrastructure of burning man - who had told me things that crushed my soul - unreal rates of suicide, depression, addiction, and fear and I was full of a rage that couldn't be stopped. 

What happened at that talk, to this day still fills me with a mixture of shame, regret and pride. So i've included some of the meltdown speech I gave last year that I literally haven't been able to listen to until this very week because i was so scared of what I had done or said because I got in a lot of trouble and made alot of people mad. Oops. I did it again. No really though i am sorry, I never meant to disrespect the organizers of the talk or the other panelists. I wish I had handled myself with more compassion and composure but the only way out is through and...SOMEONE NEEDED TO SAY IT. But sorry. Seriously.
